Visited Redheads for the AYCE weekend brunch. Tea and coffee are self-serve, but otherwise food/dessert are ordered through the kitchen. The menu features a wide selection including Japanese curry, rice burgers, sushi, sliders, desserts (ice cream, donuts , etc. My only critique might be re: the miso soup which I found had little taste/not salty at all. Not sure if that was intentional..still ate it tho. The place is small so making a reservation ahead of time is necessary!! You will not get a table by walk-in. And note: only two time slots are available. Our server was a young man (not sure his name but he was incredible! He did everything from welcoming guests, answering the phone, serving...

me and my family often come here and everytime has been an amazing experience. it is small but homey and the server is always so happy even tho it’s busy! i witnessed her give something extra to a young girl and she was so excited, truly going out of her way to make customers happy ? and the food is always delicious! i personally love the kimpura burger and the japa sandwiches here, the honey lemon soda, fries, and black sesame ice cream. we will definitely continue coming here and recommending this place to everyone we know.

This place was welcoming and the staff was so helpful. Everything was laid out really nicely, the environment was calm and peaceful, and the atmosphere is truly like experiencing a cafe in Japan. I had the Japa Bento Box, and the Chocolate Doughnut to end. Both were truly delicious, and an amazing dining experience. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough.Wheelchair accessibility: The seats can be moved around or removed to accommodate wheelchair users, and there are no stairs to enter or leave the cafe.

Been curious about this place for the longest time though my schedule has often been in conflict with its hours. Suffice to say, I think it was finally worth it when I did get to try their Japa Rice Burger. Definitely not what you'd expect from a rice ball, and it also helps that you got a decently flavored burger patty and real cheese inside it.Definitely worth stopping by for a quick lunch. In fact, my only criticism (though likely a skill issue on my end) is that the exterior doesn't really stand out Réservez une table maintenant

Tabemono or Home Cooking?Japa Cafe is a gem in Calgary. Here you will find rice lovingly made that one will weep from any past memories of Japan. The rice, however, is only a conduit for the katsu, kagage and Nihon curry. All which are delicious. These option are salty and greasy but there are plenty of other selections. The tomago maki is particularly reminiscent of the subtly of Japanese art.The service also cannot be best. It is a cafe with the energy of Cheers. A place for family or for a visitors.

Overall incredible experience! The katsu curry dish I tried tasted absolutely delicious and authentic with a great blend of flavour. The place felt extremely cozy and welcoming upon first visit, making it a homey spot to enjoy a meal. The service was stellar as the staff offered to make beverage samples from scratch before purchasing, which was a very considerate gesture. Looking forward to possibly trying more of their dishes/drinks down the line!

Restaurant can only fit about 20 people and without a reservation, you won’t likely get seated. The brunch has about 15 different options. I think they market it as 30 different options but it’s more like toppings that you can add. In reality, it’s 15 different dishes or so. Most of them are very small but you can order as many as you want. There is also options for kids (French toasts). Waiter was very nice and speaks French! A good address!

It was hot day! I ate lots of great real Japanese foods at Red Heads Cafe: I visited Weekends buffet. All seats were reserved! However the counter chairs were opened for walk-in: I had mini curry, vegetable Nimono, Ume rice(special order , say source tuna spaghetti, salad, miso soup, pork katsu with miso source, Ice cream and coffee/green tea. including tips less $30. All real Japanese family dishes.Parking: Street parking only Réservez une table maintenant

A nice find. Amazing weekend brunch with very good value. Loves it’s Nimono, tonkatsu, karage, rice ball and french toast. Will definitely be back. Make sure you reserve before you go as it has limited seating.
