Le 'Refuge de Ilheou' est idéalement situé entre Cauterets et les montagnes où l'on peut faire de la randonnée et du ski. Ce petit restaurant et lieu d'hébergement se trouve sur le magnifique Lac d'Ilhéou ou Lac Bleu, à près de 2000m d'altitude. Que vous soyez en train de monter ou de descendre, ce charmant refuge est là quand vous êtes fatigué et avez besoin de quelque chose à manger ou à boire ! Des repas bien préparés sont servis et les boissons sont froides ou chaudes ! Et les vues sont incroyables ! J'y retournerai...
The 'Refuge de Ilheou' is well situated between Cauterets and the mountains where one hike and or ski. This small restaurant and overnight place is on the beautiful Lac d'Ilhéou ou Lac Bleu - or "Blue Lake" and at nearly 2000m above sea level. Whether you hiking up or down - this lovely retreat is there when you are tired and in need of something to eat or drink! Well prepared meals is served and the drink cold - or hot! and the views incredible! I will go again.
Un menu très basique avec une omelette bien cuite et servie avec une belle portion de tomates assaisonnées. Le service n'est pas rapide, mais la cuisine est très petite. Ils n'acceptent que l'argent liquide, donc assurez-vous d'avoir de l'argent avec vous. Le jour où nous y étions, ils n'avaient pas de monnaie, donc assurez-vous d'avoir un peu de monnaie sur vous. Cela dit, avec une omelette à 7€ et une boisson à 3€, nous n'avions pas besoin de monnaie.
We arrived at this refuge after a long day of walking, the guard was very busy and offered us a way fire: luxury! Having taken the half board we ate very well, it was delicious. The dorm is very comfortable, and there is even a shower available: perfect after a long day of walking. all this with a sublime view of the lake!

on the way, a beautiful waterfall, marmots, raspberries and blueberries to be enjoyed (following the season) and a beautiful mountain lake on arrival. a welcome to the very nice refuge. Be careful, however, to the patous who keep the herds arriving at the lake especially if you hike with a dog.
good pancakes as always but a plate for two different pancakes (for 2 people) and without spoons because as I have been pointed out it eats in the hand and dishes also (in the hand)
the lake is really beautiful but the way to reach it lacks a little charm...However it is an easy rando that can be made with family

the lake is beautiful to see, but also the whole path between the cable car and the lake, this part there really worth the trip.
