for years we have often been driving from nj to maine to visit my parents. each trip includes a stop at pure for amazing rugalach, a beef vengeance and many others dinge. we enjoyed each time we stopped. That's all year. I don't know if there's new owners, but the convicted beef sandwich wasn't good, the last time we stopped there, but we thought it was just a free day to shoot it again. this time we ordered a rare frying rind sandwich and potato pancake. and this amazing revenge? no longer amazing. let us also mention that we were previously called in our sandwiches and told 20 minutes, and since we were there 15 minutes later, we were standing for another hour for a frying-joint sandwich....
update from today. eating was okay, not great, but edible. service not as good as when first came. the waitress did not ask if everything was in order or whether we needed more coffee or nothing else. other waitress asked table next to us how her meal was and when something more she needed. sharp contrast from my first visit. space was not even so crowded so that the service would have been better. meal pricy too. better services at other places, not sure when or when I came back, but maybe it was just a free day for employees._ Today for the first time I went to this deli? and we had the best breakfast in a long time from a restaurant. the cheese on our dish was a good part and the whole me...
During our drive from New Hampshire to New York, we took a dinner break at Rein's. The service was very friendly, especially towards our children. We all enjoyed the fresh ingredients and tasty meals, although they didn't quite match up to the flavor and portion size of our favorite Jewish delis in NYC. Despite this, we would definitely consider stopping here again with adjusted expectations.
we stopped going to dinner, and I have to say I wasn't impressed. my tuna salad sandwich lacked taste and the roll on which it was was not fresh. the kartoffel knish also lacked taste. Actually, I would say it was almost infallible. the pastrami reuben my mannes was good and so were the pickles. overall we were not impressed. I know many people like this place, but I won't be back
In March 2022, Rein's Deli offers a wide selection of sandwiches but the borscht was underwhelming. It lacked sour cream and fresh vegetables like scallions and cucumbers. The restaurant was crowded with little social distancing, which made me feel uneasy. However, they do have picnic tables outside on the left, though they might be too chilly for dining at the moment.
I’ve been coming here for years. Classic New York Style Deli. Great staff, great food, and great selection. They have a nice bar area and a normal seating area. Top notch restaurant in my opinion, never been disappointed. Make sure you eat their legendary pickles if you go!
