Stayed at the resort and decided to dine here. We didn't dine here again and most of the people that we saw at the same time didn't go back either (should say something). The restaurant itself is quite nice décor wise. My wife had the dory and prawn dish and enjoyed it. I had the steak and asked for medium well done. There was no medium about it and it was well done like boot leather. The toughest steak I have had in ages. Now this place rates as the second worst restaurant in the area. With a little more care (management) it could be so so much better. The poor young waitress on her fifth shift had obviously received no training. She had limited knowledge of the menu. We stayed at the Esplanade resort and Spa for a short mid week break and were amazed to find the restaurant was not open for breakfast or lunch, and not open for dinner on Monday evening! We booked for Tuesday evening but found when we arrived at the appointed time that our table had been given to a walk up diner. We then had to wait over an hour for a table. Obviously bookings don't count for anything at this restaurant. Given there isn't a nice waiting area, we went back to our room to wait. When we eventually did get a table the food was very good. After eating here this week with the family visiting from Melbourne we were astounded.From the second you walk through the the doors the atmosphere is so formal yet relaxed, with a beautiful setting and extremely friendly staff it was definitely the way to start the night offUpon being seated we noticed the beautiful outdoor area that looked a treat for those summer nights (we will be back for one of those), with a menu for everyone's fussy appetites this night was a blastWith the variety of food arriving from pastas to curries and pizza I must say even the beef salad was amazing, and to finish the night off the sticky date was huge and oh so good! My partner and I ate at this restaurant as we had vouchers through Luxury Escape. The restaurant wasn’t busy with only a few tables occupied. We ended up waiting about an hour for our food to come out. It also seemed like all the other tables were waiting on food too. The waitress was very helpful and kept apologising for the delay. When our meals were eventually brought out to our table, the waitress offered us dessert on the house. Overall, the meal was delicious (we ordered the Lamb Rump and Seafood Pie) however slightly overpriced if we had to pay the full amount. Réservez une table maintenant
our order was muddled up, they over charged us, they were rude and the young waitress boy attitude. I put in a complaint to front desk about the service and all they did was transfer me to the rude staff member in the restaurant! The pizza tasted like cardboard and was expensive just not nice food at all.
After reading all the reviews was a bit concerned eating here. I had the fish and prawns and was pleasantly surprised. Friends had rump steak and lamb dishes and everyone enjoyed their meal. We did have to wait an hour for our meal but they took our order quite early. The service was also very good.
