We had called-here for drinks during a previous visit to Bournemouth. We were impressed with the wine we drank, and the food that we saw served to other customers. So, today was the realisation of a promise that we made-to-ourselves to revisit and, this time, dine! We were a few-minutes early for our 19:30 reservation having allowed too-much time for our half-a-mile walk from our hotel. The restaurant was not busy, and there were scant customers during our 2½ hour stay. There was only one, very pleasant, member of staff in the bar/dining area. We were visiting Bournemouth to enjoy Valentine’s Night, which we do like to celebrate, because after the Christmas and New Year festivities, there’s just nothing ‘happening’; at least until the weather improves. Valentine’s remains the only occasion, in the depths of winter, that give’s us reason to dine-out; it drives us to brave the elements and have a little fun. This year we decided we would have the best part of a couple of days here in Bournemouth; including this one-night stop-over. I had a great night here a few weeks ago. The cheese is to die for, well all of the food is fantastic. The six person sharer board has a lot of extras and a generous choice of cheese and meat. A great wine selection and don't worry if you don't drink wine, there is a well stocked bar. Attentive but not overbearing service. Shay is a great asset to Westbourne. I would highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. If you love the food, there is also a Renoufs deli just down the road in The Arcade.
As an early Mother's Day treat, daughter took for for lunch here. The photo is 100% representative of the charcuterie and cheese board, plus sliced breads that we shared. Excellent service by the staff. We chose a comte, a Dorset Red and a camembert, for our 3 cheeses. All the cheeses were lovely; the comte was tongue tinglingly delicious. Even the pickled onions were eye poppingly terrific. I would thoroughly recommend having lunch etc. here
Shay provided an exceptional dining experience at Renofous. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and efficient service truly enhanced our meal. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and made excellent recommendations. Shay's professionalism and genuine hospitality made our visit truly memorable.
