Restaurant 1835 Im Hotel Altora

I ate here twice during my stay and found the food too easy and from a very acceptable standard. Both times it was fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the grilled liver with potato pulp. I was less impressed by the weinerschnitzel, as it was more a normal baked escalop, then the paper thin version further south normal. Most meat dishes were served with pomme frites that was a little dissapointing. I had a most enjoyable desert mand from berries with a vanilla cream sauce. The restaurant is comfortable with well equipped tables. It has the novelty to serve drinks at some of the tables with model train. Good view of the narrow steam train. Friendly staff.

I love this place! I was a couple of times over the years and it never lets me down. Staff are friendly and efficient and try hard with my very average German! . The food is delicious and the menu is quite extensive. Of course, the most charming thing is the way your drinks are delivered from the model railway, which along the room is a great idea without a doubt inspired by the resin railway directly across the street, which also gives Diners a look at the coming and going this amazing railway. Notwithstanding the rail theme, the restaurant is a really nice place to visit not stuffy or pretentious, and above all the food is good!

This small restaurant is connected to the hotel The atmosphere will be delivered by your drinks and puddings that are delivered to your table with the train Good food huge portions and reasonable price I demanded a piece of bread, it can be completely with butter tomato cucumber n salad on the side and no fee The mushroom pasta was too big, so again I asked a smaller version Staff not all speak English but it is fun to order drinks reasonable and we liked it so much we ate in it twice

At the end of a long day we visited the dinner. The hotel is close to the main railway station in Wernigerode. Fun when watching the model train that supplies beers and drinks to some of the tables. The food is what I would describe as a good pub duve, inexpensive and healthy with the usual choices of the local fare. Well worth a visit, especially you have a train fan with you!

Good food, puffing locomotives visible from the dining room, not to mention the beverage delivery system where the drinks are brought by (LGB) train. Food is great however the vegetarian items are not to be confused with cardiac-friendly. Great for kids.
