Restaurant Anatolia

We chose this restaurant because it looked clean and tidy, and even though the menu prices were expensive that's par for the course in Basel. Interior was smart but lacking in atmosphere and service polite if a little distant (but read on!). My wife had a reasonable vegetarian dish; I had chicken shish which came only with a grilled tomato and a small portion of rice. The chicken was ok but quite tough. However, what turned an average experience into a bad one was the waitress coming across to us when we still had our drinks to finish, and asking us to pay the bill and leave because she wanted to close (this was early afternoon)! The couple eating on the next table got the same experience and hadn't even finished eating. At no point previously had it been mentioned that they were closing soon, but I suppose that would have meant them missing out on a couple of sales. Needless to say we won't be back.

After wandering around for awhile and noting various restaurants, my wife and I opted for what she described as a Turkish pizza place. The fellow and his wife who run (and own?) the place were charming. A great salad to start and some wonderfully flavorful pizzas. Yummy desserts, and of course Turkish coffee to finish the meal. A great find tucked away up a hill from the main street. Be sure to check it out.

Gillar man Turkisk mat så är detta en trevlig restaurang där man kan sitta utomhus.Bord och stolar är anpassade för lutningen av marken utanför.Gott och med bra priser.

Love the food at this place lovely ambiance If cold then definitely to seat inside but If beautiful weather then outside there food is very delicious scrumptious

Had great tasting humus there and main course with yoghurt cream sauce and ravioli type pasta. A bit pricey but still worth it.
