A friend had raved about this place and took me there today. We had four dishes and all were amazing. Their specialty seems to be Cambodian food, which I don't know much about but I loved everything my friend ordered. We had some basa fillets...baked in a green curry sauce that took a while to arrive but was worth the wait. Stir-fried watercress in a garlicky sauce was fantastic and the lok lak beef was cubes of meat basted with a great sauce and with a great side sauce for dipping. Having just returned from a trip to Thailand, I ordered their shredded green papaya salad which had a great dressing a lots of plump shrimp. The soups I saw on the other tables also looked wonderful. Most dishes...

Came here during an evening. Aesthetically, the restaurant looks old, just like all the furniture. The menu contains picture of each dish that leaves to be desired for lots of presentations. Ordered a soup, veggies, and meats (General Tao attempt and fried squid). Soup...was fair, veggies were bland, the General Tao had way too much coating than meat itself, and the squid was small in size. The poor seasoning and sauce didn't help increase the taste of these meals, and the rice we received had a burned bottom. Overall, price was fair a best. Cooking quality is not to be expected at a restaurant level.

Asie Modern offers one of the most extensive Asian menus in the city, featuring dishes from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. A highlight is their delicious Won-Ton soup, and they even offer a smaller portion size for beginners. Some unique dishes not found elsewhere in Montreal include amok fish, grilled quails, and lok lak beef. All dishes are truly delicious, but be prepared for potentially long wait times. Prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that the check may not always be clearly itemized.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years. Everything on the menu is excellent. Even though we now live far away, we make sure to visit this restaurant whenever we are in the city. I have not been able to find another dish as delicious as their lok...lac. I highly recommend it!

We tried Vietnamese dishes (shrimp, veggies) and the amount and quality were great. We also liked the Singapore noodles. Not sure about the northern Asian dishes, but the southern Asian ones were really good. Even the kids liked them a lot.
