Restaurant Aux Quatre Saisons

I have given a couple of very good restaurants five stars while reviewing them on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, that left me without extra stars for the restaurant in which I have had the single most perfect meal of my life.We have a house about 20 minutes from Aux Quatre Saisons, and had passed it several times. About a month ago, knowing a friend from the US who is a gourmet cook and owns a specialty cheese spread company serving high-end venues was coming to visit, I cast about for places that would appeal to her. C'était ma première visite aux Quatre Saisons. J'avais seulement entendu de bonnes choses, mais la nourriture était encore meilleure que ce à quoi je m'attendais. J'ai pris le camembert au four avec du bacon, des haricots verts et des pommes de terre, délicieux! En dessert, j'ai pris la crème brûlée, qui était facilement la meilleure que j'aie eu depuis longtemps. Je le recommande définitivement! Paul et Val étaient incroyablement accueillants, et j'ai beaucoup apprécié en apprendre davantage sur la manière traditionnelle de boire du port de la part de Paul. Dans l'ensemble, c'était une excellente expérience (je ne peux pas décider ce que j'ai préféré; la nourriture ou les propriétaires)!

Axat is a delightful village with a charming old church, a beautiful river and this hidden treasure, Aux Quatre Saisons. Having heard good reports we booked to eat dinner there and had a tremendous evening, in terms of food, in terms of ambiance and in terms of service. All of the dishes we ordered were lovely and the cooking here is done with finesse and flair. But its not only the food prepared by the chef - a highlight was the cheese selection, obviously a selection chosen with love, where we were talked through the choices with elan. The owners Paul and Val are running a gem of a restaurant and we're glad we found it.

What can I say...made me and my family so welcome for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration.Run by chef Paul and his lovely wife Val,it's gorgeous setting and out of this world food makes this a must to anyone visiting the area.Made a fantastic birthday cake which was to die for, the locally sourced cheeses that are presented before pudding....WOW accompanied with several glasses of port and brandy.Keep up the very high standard's Paul and valand thank you. C'est une deuxième visite pour nous, comme la dernière fois, une cuisine exceptionnelle, des hôtes charmants et une bonne ambiance. Rien n'est de trop, y compris un ascenseur pour rentrer chez soi dans la Bentley ! merci Paul et Val pour une autre soirée mémorable, j'espère revenir à de nombreuses autres occasions.

We felt as if we were part of a fawlty towers remake with Miguel playing Manuel and Paul playing Basil. What a laugh! And in between the parts lovely food is being served with a cheese platter we will not lightly forget! It's a pity we were just estivants otherwise we would become regulars!

Paul et Val ont organisé le barbecue pour les 70 ans de ma mère ... et c'était brillant ... tout était parfait ... la nourriture était délicieuse et copieuse. Très professionnel, mais aussi sympathique et flexible. Très recommandé pour une utilisation en extérieur.

Nourriture délicieuse, l'entrée de pétoncles et de boudin noir est un plat inspiré, et les gambas étaient géniales. Le personnel est très attentionné et les visites à table de Paul (le chef) sont toujours divertissantes. Un grand merci pour cette soirée spéciale. Réservez une table maintenant

Un endroit charmant pour se détendre avec des amis. Le chef a un excellent sens de l'humour et rend visite aux clients. Il aide même pour le stationnement lorsque c'est nécessaire.

We are new locals in the village, had the most amazing evening at this restaurant it was an experience not just a meal. The food was outstanding and lovely staff.
