Restaurant Du Lac

Must have driven past the road end so many times and yet never noticed it.As the address implies it is on the lake, a typical inland water place where families can enjoy a day on the small adjacent beach but don't let that deter you as it's far enough away as not to intrude.The place is well laid out and has great leisurely atmosphere, whether you choose to eat inside or out as weather permits.The kitchen is open to view so as a consequence is very clean as is the whole place, yes the toilets as well.The menu is exceptionally varied and keep your eye on the specials board, meals are served up efficiently and piping hot, to date we have visited this restaurant several times including a lunch time visit and have not been disappointed from starters to dessert and the bill will not break the bank.Only word of caution is for UK visitors that see 'Fish

This restaurant is ideally placed for you to be able to have a meal just before checking in to the airport. However, since it was a Sunday we did need to remind the staff that we needed prompt service since we did not have time for the usual leisurely Sunday lunch but had a plane to catch! However, once they were aware they were very qick to serve us and pleasant too. The building itself is rather odd but once inside it is very pleasant and teh food not brilliant but good enough for the price.

You don't expect to find a beach in a town some hour and a half from the coast, but Libourne has one, and not only that, it can boast a great place to eat there as well. Lunchtime is buzzing with the young and the not so young and is a lively, friendly place to pass away a good couple of hours. A tiny bit on the expensive side but you get good service, good food and a good atmosphere. Whos's complaining? Reservation essential.

From the outside we were not sure what to expect, inside the tables were close but not intrusive. Head menu of the day Euro 13 drinks. Menu was more than satisfying both in taste and portion. A la carte was also reasonably priced with plenty of choice. Very popular place with great ambiance.
