Our visit to L'Excellence on Sunday was a wonderful accident. We had stopped off at Soissons on our way home from Reims and having wandered about the town decided to have lunch. We stumbled across this restaurant totally by accident as we nearly went to...the restaurant next door! I am so glad we didn't. Dix-huit d'entre nous avons réservé ici sans savoir à quoi nous attendre. Le service était incroyablement efficace et tout se faisait avec le sourire. La nourriture était excellente, à tel point que le restaurant porte bien son nom. Nous étions tellement impressionnés que nous avons réservé immédiatement sans savoir que c'était leur jour de fermeture. Cependant, cela n'a pas été mentionné, et quand nous sommes arrivés le lundi, nous avons réalisé qu'ils avaient ouvert spécifiquement pour nous. Encore une délicieuse soirée nous attendait. Nous sommes allés en ville un après-midi à la recherche d'un restaurant ouvert pour le déjeuner. Nous sommes tombés sur le restaurant par excellence. Il avait l'air très fréquenté par les locaux, mais la femme du propriétaire nous a trouvé une table. Nous avons eu de la chance car les prochains personnes sont arrivées. Nous n'avons pas trouvé de défaut à ce restaurant. Du Kir Royal au dessert, tout était exceptionnel. Le foie gras fait maison avec échalotes caramélisées était à tomber.
