J'étais en séjour dans un hôtel local avec une excellente cuisine (La Sapinière), mais le restaurant de l'hôtel ferme parfois le dimanche soir. Je suis allé à pied jusqu'à la Vieille Auberge. Quand vous entrez, ne soyez pas rebuté par l'aspect très régional français du restaurant. La nourriture et les boissons que j'ai eues étaient vraiment bonnes et peu onéreuses. Un rapport qualité-prix incroyable, ça vaut le coup d'essayer si vous êtes dans le coin. Je n'ai aucun lien avec cet endroit, juste un Britannique qui connaît bien la nourriture, visitant la charmante Auvergne.
A lot of locals eat here, we have visited several times and on this occasion the food and service was as good as ever. There were a group of "ladies who lunch" there when we were there last, which would seem to be a good recommendation. There are other local restaurants that provide excellent food and service but this establishment has stuck to it metier of regional cooking at a very good price.
Peut-être pas la meilleure nourriture au monde, mais servie avec une grande gentillesse et chaleur par l'hôte accueillant et amical. La nourriture était bien cuisinée et savoureuse mais peut-être manquait-elle un peu en termes de présentation. Mais c'est certainement un restaurant très sympathique, accueillant et offrant un bon rapport qualité-prix, surtout lorsque tant d'autres étaient fermés!
Superbe cuisine faite maison (saumon fumé et salades du buffet, parfait filet de bœuf et tarte aux myrtilles maison) est servie avec un sourire accueillant. Le tout pour un prix très raisonnable. C'est ainsi que je me souviens de la France rurale dans les années 80 et 90 mais c'est de plus en plus difficile à trouver maintenant. Juste parfait et ouvert un lundi soir !
