Very good if you like meat; authentic, rustic, cosy; and overall good value for a typical Savoyard menu with one or two unusual twists on offer.My partner and I had an unexpected meat-fest here. My starter of bacon in a pastry crust was all bacon (properly a chunk of a shoulder of ham), with any crust baked away to near oblivion. The meat literally fell apart, and had evidently been cooked for a long time; the portion wold have been good even for a main course! My partner's starter was a salad, equally well sized. Les stations de ski sont souvent remplies de lieux de restauration très moyens car les skieurs se remplissent de nourriture après une journée passée sur les pistes. Mais L'arbe se démarque. La nourriture ici était tout simplement fantastique et le personnel était génial. Notre français n'est pas génial mais le serveur nous a aidé avec le menu et nous étions tous vraiment satisfaits de nos choix. Le poulet farci au foie gras est arrivé dans une sauce sublime, nous trempions tous notre pain dedans. J'ai opté pour un kebab grillé mixte, servi sur une brochette avec de la salade et des pommes dauphinoise. Une portion très généreuse et la viande était tendre. Nous avons eu la chance d'obtenir la dernière table ici et avons immédiatement adoré l'atmosphère chaleureuse et le service très amical. Notre serveuse anglophone était tout simplement fantastique, très occupée à servir le restaurant complet mais toujours avec un charmant sourire. Nous avons apprécié les dumplings, le porc mijoté et le risotto, tout était délicieux mais le porc était exceptionnel et familial avec une saveur merveilleuse. Le pain servi était le meilleur que nous ayons goûté en Europe, avec sa croûte moelleuse et son centre tendre. Une soirée merveilleuse de nourriture et de service amical !
Je suis allé dans ce restaurant cosy lors de la dernière nuit de nos vacances et c'était vraiment bon. J'ai eu de la moelle de veau rôtie sur toast et ma femme a eu de la terrine de joue de porc en entrée. Les deux étaient excellents. En plat, j'ai pris de la joue de porc cuisinée lentement à la bière et au miel et c'était incroyable. Ma femme a pris du poulet farci et elle m'a dit que c'était incroyable. Le vin coulait à flots. Tout le monde était patient avec nos tentatives en français, mais ils pouvaient tous parler anglais. Si je reviens dans cette ville, je mangerai à nouveau ici.

Everywhere seems to be fully booked and we walked in to try our luck! Phew. There's a free table for two! It's really a lucky find. The service staff are very attentive. The restaurant had a cosy feel. We had the mixed grill and the pork cheeks. You can watch the staff grilling the meat at their open fire. What a treat! The meat are really succulent and tender. Oh my.. The sides of fennel and crozets are super yummy too. We must come back again!
If you like savoyarde then maybe a higher rating may be in order BUT we went for the hock terrine (very nice) followed by the stuffed chicken with foise gras and an unctious sauce. In addition the Diot sausage and risotto was excellent. For us whilst the food was excellent, it was very rich and the heat in the restaurant from all the fondues etc made it uncomfortable for us.
We eat here once a year when we are in la clusaz - had dinner there 28 january- again it was excellent - the service is friendly and very efficient- the menu is traditional French - I love le croustillant starter - And if you like Rose wine from Provence the Peyrassol Le Clos is super.
Very nice and cosy restaurant, everything was great and the portions were quite generous. The menu was limited to a few dishes, whatever we tried as of excellent quality and taste. A bit expensive but definitely worth it.

Been in La Clausaz for three days. Eaten in some very good restaurants. Loved them all but this one is the best.
