Restaurant le Gruyèrien

They have THE best Moitie-Moitie (Half-Half) fondue in a Geneva restaurant. By the way this is how fondue is supposed to be made. Half Vacherin Fribourgeois, half Gruyere; any other way is an heresy !The restaurant itself is nothing special, it has a slightly kitsch vibe, service is friendly and relatively efficient, prices are a bit on the steep side for a Fondue place. Especially for wine you would hope for a nice and cheap white wine option. However, you can eat a lot (fondue, cold cuts, creme de Gruyere dessert) , drink some wine and still manage to be well under the prices of most restaurants in Geneva. (Still count on spending 50-60 CHF pp)If you want to discover what a proper fondue is, or crave the familiar experience I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

If you like a good Fondue (melted cheese in a pot), it's one of the places to go in Geneva. This one is a bit out of the center town. There is another restaurant under the same name in a center town. They have other dishes than a Fondue, but their moitié-moitié it's really creamy and remain light on a stomach. Take with it a little bottle of a fresh Swiss white wine and enjoy! To try goat cheese Fondue, unusual but very tasty as well.

It was the best fondue I've ever ate. No heavy smell, nice atmosphere, welcomes you warmly, good service, highly recommend you to taste "meringue a la double cream" after main course...Special thanks to the owners who conveyed us the passion and enthusiasm in what they are doing.

This is by far the best fondue i had in Geneva. Service is really good. Friendly service. Beautiful ambiance. Tasty food. I totally recomend it to anybody who tasts fondue.

Very very nice place, great staff, AMAZING goat's cheese fondue!! Will be back soon! Always very busy though, so you must book it in advance
