Restaurant Le Prieure

We were staying close by on a fishing holiday and the owners recommended this restaurant.The weather was beautiful and we sat on the terrace overlooking the river Mayenne.There are various menu's to choose but we went for the menu decouverture (weekdays, 14.5 euro).It was fantastic value for the quality of food we received; a refreshing prawn salad starter followed by beef and potato dauphinoise and a assiete of desserts. a half bottle of well-chilled vouvray sec at 12.5 euro went very well with this!Not to mention very good service,bread and two amuse bouches.We had to go back again..this time a lovely starter of duck (landaise?); including fois gras and rillettes and a beautifully presented dessert of profitterolesGood food and wine in a lovely setting for 50 euro inc. gratuities and coffee..best value!

Great French restaurant with excellent menu and wine choices. The owner/chef makes you feel really welcome. The restaurant has choices of set menus and a la carte at reasonable prices.During a recent holiday staying in a nearby village we visited the restaurant twice enjoying good meals and wine. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the entertaining hospitality of the owner/chef. The restaurant is located in pretty village close to the river Mayenne and the outdoor tables would be a great place to enjoy your meal on a warm summer evening.Highly recommended.

We ate at Le Prieure last night with friends. We were all delighted with the whole experience. We were seated on the lovely terrace over the River Mayenne. We all made different choices so that we really tested the menu and it was great! The 'landaise' starter was particularly fab, as was the traditional veal chop with girolle mushrooms. Finally, the assiete of desserts offered a lovely selection, and they weren't too sweet. Including our wine it came to 40 euros per person which, for food and service of this quality, we thought was more than fair.

this restaurant is very goodservice is goodfood is excellentthey were changing the ''MENU'' the same day we went so we had a limited choice of wine that day but I am sure the new cellar is excellentlocation is amazing, next to the riverthis place is perfect for romantic get away or group / family reunions

Having visited this restaurant last year it was a pleasure to return. The owner/ chef was charming especially when presenting us with a bottle of champagnes FOC.
