Restaurant Le Roselet

The restaurant is in a perfectly lovely location and the food was good, if not exceptional. It was somewhat overpriced, but we were reasonably content until we came to pay the bill. The restaurant's credit card machine couldn't process any of our 3 credit cards. The proprietor refused to believe that the problem was with his credit card machine and said the problem was with our cards. The bill came to Euros 152 and I only had Euros 135 on me in cash. I offered to make up the difference with £20 sterling. He refused to take any sterling and insisted on writing down all the details from one of our cards. except for the terrasse, not much to praise here . Especially not the waitress who had a very unpleasant attitude , to the extent I had to intervene for her to stop treating us like a nuisance. The fish is tasteless but pricey. I believe it's the same tourist menu which is served for ever. (dishes pictures from 2015 look exactly like what we got) The only nice comment I could leave is about the desserts. period.

Had a surprise birthday lunch for my Dad here alongside the lake in a beautiful location. The waiter was rushed at first and we had to wait for service, but as the restaurant emptied things returned to agreeable service. The food was excellent and the steak well cooked. The fera was delicious and a first try of the local speciality from Lac d'Annecy. A memorable lunch and an unhurried one!
