Restaurant les amis de la foret

Spent a few days driving round the Vendee last winter and came across this little place tucked away in the forest. Looked deserted but we tried it anyway. Couldn't have been more welcoming. They were officially closed to do some repairs for a few days but opened up and made us food and a hot drink. Nothing was too much trouble. Look out for it.

This restaurant has changed hands many times over the thirty years we have been visiting Vouvant. We try to like it as the staff are lovely but the food is not good value and the chips are truly awful.
