In my previous reviews of this place, I had nothing positive to say. None of the tenants managed to make a satisfied and regular customer out of me. Needless to say that when I was invited for lunch there the other day, I accepted without enthusiasm. But boy, was I in for a surprise. Not only was the dining room packed, everything was perfect. From the warm welcome to the prompt and attentive service to the tasteful meal… right up to the coffee the house offered. So, all is forgotten and forgiven. Keep up the good work and I’ll repay you with many more visits, as well as publicity among friends and business contacts – which starts with this positive Tripadvisor review!.
The location, the view and most importantly the food is very good, however the service is just terrible. We first tested this restaurant last month and had a similar experience, we decided to give it another try today but we just had a same experience. They forget the orders, or you get the wrong plate, they don’t know the table numbers, they are totally lost, the service is just very bad. it took us around 45min to get our starters. The manager has a real hard time to accept complaints and just don’t accept to listen to you. Pity because the good and the view are real good.
We booked the whole place for our wedding reception under the new management, and the whole experience was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef excellent, and we were lucky with the weather, meaning we could have the aperitif on the terrace with splendid views of the lake and mountains. I would highly recommend the Esplanade to anyone, but particularly for an important family celebration like this as the size was just right (our 80 guests fitted perfectly, with some space for dancing).
Beautiful view over the lake and the vineyard. Easy access and parking, wheelchair friendly. Staff was nice and helpful. We were expecting better food though, it was good enough but lacked seasoning. Veggies were either over or undercooked. An eggshell was in one of the plates. for the price (and the previous comments here) we were expecting a bit better. It was also pretty long between the courses. Still worth a try but rather during summer on their terrace to enjoy the view Réservez une table maintenant
