Restaurant L'Imprimerie

Fontenoy-la-Joute is a secondhand book village. Nothing like as big as Hay-on-Wye and with many fewer small shops which are mainly open at weekends in summer. Unsurprisingly, there are not many English books for sale but plenty of bande dessinée/cartoon/comic books, e.g. Tintin, Asterix, etc. The restaurant is in the centre of the village (use the address rather than the name; our GPS took us outside the village! L'Imprimerie is a relatively new restaurant run by two young chefs serving French food in a modern style. Nous avons fait tout notre possible pour déjeuner dans cet endroit merveilleux en raison de ses excellentes critiques et nous n'avons pas été déçus. C'est dans un village banal mais tout dans le restaurant était excellent. Le stationnement n'a posé aucun problème, la décoration intérieure était très bien réalisée, le service était professionnel et sympathique. Les toilettes étaient scrupuleusement propres et avaient des serviettes individuelles en coton (une délicate attention ! La nourriture était excellente. L'entrée était de la viande crue marinée avec des artichauts, le plat principal était des champignons, de la purée de citrouille et du poisson, chacun étant délicieux et en combinaison...

Nous avons choisi ce restaurant en nous basant sur les critiques de TripAdvisor alors que nous visitions Baccarat. Nous nous ne sommes pas déçus ! Nous avons choisi le menu surprise et avons été très agréablement surpris. Le restaurant était complet et certains clients potentiels ont été refoulés. Le personnel était très serviable et attentionné. La nourriture était exceptionnelle, les vins assortis complétaient les plats et le prix était d'un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Nous avons également eu droit à un cours supplémentaire gratuit avec un verre de vin supplémentaire. Dans l’ensemble, c’est une super expérience. Je recommanderais certainement ce restaurant. A small Quaint Restaurant, run by a young brave couple. I would rather not disclose the unique concept, I can only say the Husband cooks, and cooks very well, and the wife does the service, Friendly and Professional with a smile. The restaurant is situated in a village which is known for it book worms, who we were told came there to search, buy and sell but only secondhand books??? We had an excellent three course meal, with amuse Bouche thrown in, and we enjoyed it, the selection of accompanying wines is excellent. On the whole a surprisingly a very very nice and pleasant dinner.

On our way to visit the Alsace region, we stopped for lunch in this restaurant located in a small village 10 minutes away from Baccarat. A couple opened the restaurant some years ago and attend you very kindly. We took a full menu for 13€ and enjoyed a delicious risotto as a starter. We had a great lunch in this restaurant with a decoration on books and printing. A hidden gem not too far from famous Baccarat !
