Key elements of our experience as follows: Welcome Greeting: Poor, didn't get any sense of welcome or warmth, shown to a small table in the back with no other diners and jammed against a...wall zero ambience there were plenty of better tables available. We asked to be moved and were but the second barely any better. No-one appeared interested in our table, were not offered and aperatif without promting. Staff seemed to have eyes looking everywhere except at tables looking for service. We were in Schwerin and saw the recommendations for this restaurant so we wanted to try. It was only possible to get a table Tuesday evening (we tried to get one Sunday or Monday, but fully booked so it is a popular place and...reservations seem to be a must! Central location. Nice ambience in the restaurant. Very nice staff as well. The food could be better, however. A little surprise to us after all the fine notes on Tripadvisor. A Bruschetta as starter was boring to say the least! Olive oil missing. The Fischsoljanka (soup) was sweet, and the small pieces of fish had the skin on (soft fish skin is really not delicate to our opinion). Maindish Fischplatte Lukas was with sorts of fish, good...
We came for lunch on a Sunday and the place was packed with German families, which we thought would be a good sign. We ordered a starter (Russian fish soup), the fish platter and a whole baked dory. The fish soup was yummy with its...strong tomato flavour, but the mains were a huge letdown all of the fish tasted bland (i.e. no seasoning whatsoever, our attempt to season with salt and pepper couldn't save it) and the salmon was overcooked. The fried potatoes which came with the mains were probably the best part of the mains, unfortunately. We came in with high hopes given the tripadvisor rating but are sadly unable to recommend this place. The food options here are very similar to a no frills...
the day recommendation spoke very much to me, extraordinary in the description ran the water in the mouth together with the "fried petersfisch on earthbeer - camembert - rucola salat mit feigen - balsamico - vinaigrette". it tasted excellent, together with coarse whole grain (small) bread a real pleasure. thanks for the idea and the delicious conversion.

I was there twice now and every time the food and the atmosphere was really good. The staff was very nice and friendly and have checked up on us more than once. I can recommend the fish plate ‘LUKAS’ and also the fish soup.
We enjoyed very much our visits at the Lukas. The restaurant offers a regional variety of nice fish dishes. The beer is good the deserts have been tasty. It is highly recommended to make a reservation.
we were there during our stay in Schwerin 2 x evening and very satisfied: friendly staff, nice atmosphere, fair prices and above all very good eating! what do you want?
Place was quite full in comparison to the other restaurants in the city. Good prepared for the current situation. Attentive service, food was not exceptional, but ok.

A must-book restaurant. Good range of fish meals in particular in a very pleasant environment. Good-sized portions. Service was friendly and helpful and not rushed.
