Sicher eines, wenn nicht das gemütlichste und originellste Altstadt Restaurant. Das Essen ist für diese Preisklasse hervorragend. Hier treffen sich die Locals der Gegend zum gemeinsamen Essen und Trinken. An warmen Tagen kann man draussen essen und dem Treiben der Altstadt zuschauen. An Wochenende unbedingt reservieren oder auf Glück hoffen. Nachtrag: wie es zurzeit aussieht, bleibt die Schmiedstube bis im Herbst 2023 aus Gesundheitsgründen geschlossen. Parking: Direkt in der Altstadt findet man abends kaum Parkplätze. Ausserhalb gibt es Plätze im Süden der Altstadt. Wheelchair accessibility: Leider ist kein Lift vorhanden. This is a bistro style restaurant in an old building located in the heart of Bulach. Restaurant is rustic and the ambiance very good. We arrived at ten past six and got a table immediately, even though we did not have a reservation. Within 5 minutes we had our drinks and our order was taken, but then we had to wait 45 minutes for our food.My wife asked the waitress (very politely) if it was always this busy and if it is normal that it takes 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and the waitress replied, Yes, this is perfectly normal, especially if you have not reserved a table (do not see what that has to do with slow service) and added that this was not McDonald's. Ich gehe immer wieder gern in die Schmiedstube, egal ob als Weihnachtsessen im Winter, mit der Familie oder Freunden im Sommer draussen. Ich wurde stets super freundlich bedient, auf unsere Wünsche wurde unkompliziert reagiert und trotz der kleinen Karte findet man immer was, auch mit einem Kleinkind! Nicht zu vergessen ist das Ambiente in der Schmiedstube, mir gefällt die Einrichtung und Deko, ich fühl mich sehr wohl dort.
We stumbled acrossed this cosy lil place on date night and it was one of our finest date night we had. It's restaurant is set up in an eclectic style, dimmed lighting making it very cosy. We took a table on the top where it was almost so private for us. We had their Chef's recommendation which was just so delicious till the last bite! Réservez une table maintenant
I can warmly recommend the blacksmith's room to you! From A to Z everything is excellent! The starters and main courses completely convinced us both in terms of taste and appearance, a huge compliment to the kitchen We were well served by the service and also received brilliant wine recommendations
