Restaurant Sternen

My husband and I have eaten here on many occasions and I have even eaten here alone for both evening meal and lunch. I recently had some friends visiting so we went for lunch and a glass of wine outside. Food was, as always, excellent and my friends from the UK were very impressed and said that this would be somewhere they would come to again and again if they lived here. The waitresses are all very friendly and patient with my bad German. The owner (I think) always welcomes me and even when I come here alone I do not feel uncomfortable.The bar area is modern and it's a great place for just a drink too. If its warm the big outside seating area is a lovely place to have a coffee and relax for a little while. We will definitely return again and continue to bring our visitors. They do a nice mix of 'tradional' Swiss food and some tasty pasta dishes and I have never had a complaint about anything I've ordered, it's been consistently excellent.

We went to Sternen for a friends birthday dinner. The service was good, friendly and drinks were served fast. The food was average: We had a good beef tartar as starter and I had risotto with shrimps and scallops as main course. The seafood was perfectly cooked, but the risotto was swimming in a soup of oil, not very delicious. My BF had the cordon bleu,- it was edible but not good (taste).

The fillet steak was excellent although it looked very lonely on the plate! It could have done with some accompanying garnish, vegetables or potato. The desert menu consisted of many different flavours of ice cream but seemed to lack anything that was prepared in the restaurant. The head waiter could also have done with a little more friendly personality and improved dress code,

This restaurant offers a variety of German cuisines and is located in a nice and peaceful neighborhood outside of Zurich. Is is quiet and offers outdoor dining. The service staff are very friendly, and the food is fantastic.

Food (roesti & zûrigschnetzlets) was very delicious, i dont know why they dont want to have pics on TA - the big dining room and the bar are very nice. Underground free parking available.
