Aufgrund der zahlreichen positiven Bewertungen hatten wir lange im voraus im Restaurant Valentin reserviert.Als wir am Abend eintrafen, war der Platz, welchen wir ursprünglich ausgewählt hatten, besetzt, so dass wir entschieden nochmals einen Apero trinken zu gehen und uns der Platz für später zugesagt wurde. Doch als wir ankamen war dieser bereits wieder vergeben, was mit einem flapsigen Kommentar "das ist dann wohl schiefgelaufen" abgetan wurde. Aber man sitzt auch an den anderen Plätzen schön. Der Wein, den wir ausgewählt hatten, war ebenfalls nicht mehr verfügbar, allerdings kam man uns mit einem anderen Wein zum gleichen Preis entgegen, was sehr kulant war.Die Küche selber ist ausgezeic...
By this point in our German travels, we were looking for something a little lighter and more refined than the typical (but delicious) German food options. When we arrived to Lindau, we discovered Valentin. Although we knocked on the door at 9 pm on a Sunday night with no reservations, the waiter graciously welcomed us in and sat us in the well appointed dining room and brought us some aperitifs and amuse bouches. The menu is not overly large but there were options for everyone in our party, including our 10 year old son. We started with the 9 tasting sampler of Lake Constance white fish which we were told changes with the season. I will admit I am not a huge fan of smoked fish or herring so...
What can I say apart from wow wow wow! Possibly the most delicious meal I've eaten in a long long time. My starter (goats cheese) was sooo good I didn't want it to end! Exquisite is only one word I can use to describe my main course, which was gnocchi with 3 types of beef. My husband had the ox cheek and it was equally delicious! The deserts were sooo yummy I didn't want them to end. I had the soufflé and my husband the creme brûlée. Both were incredible... I can't even begin to describe how good they tasted..... the waitress was an absolute delight, so friendly and helpful and the entire experience was fabulous. Das Essen ist wirklich ein Genuss mit den verschiedenen Kräutern und der perfekten Zubereitung. Das Lokal ist sehr modern und gemütlich. Die junge Dame und der Herr (Chef?) die uns bedienten, waren sehr freundlich.Was mir nicht so gefallen hat, dies ist aber Ansichtssache ist ,dass der Herr die Getränke nicht zuerst den Damen servierte, sondern wild durcheinander. Gerne hätte ich auch vom Servicepersonal beim Servieren nochmals eine Information bekommen, was genau alles verarbeitet wurde. Nous avons pris le menu à 4 plats. Attente d'1 heure entre chaque plat. 4 heures pour 4 plats, c'est juste insupportable. Une serveuse nous ignorait complètement et notre serveur avait l'air emprunté (il nous a proposé une bouteille de vin rouge au dessert, alors que nous étions sur les dents et avions plus envie de boire). Les personnes arrivées après nous étaient servies avant nous. Les plats étaient petits et nous avions encore faim en attendant le dessert. Certes, les plats étaient goûteux et bons et le cadre dans la cour à l'arrière était charmant.
Da stimmt alles! Echte Lebensmittel in Bioqualität aus der Region, Kochkunst, Weine, alles herausragend und köstlich! Die Speisen sind eine Freude für das Auge und immer wieder überraschende Gaumenkitzel sind von dem angenehmen und aufmerksamen Servicepersonal empfohlen und aufgetischt jedesmal ein wahres Fest für uns. Ein Glück, dass es dieses Valentin gibt, denn da bekommt man den Glauben an ehrliche und hochwertige Gastronomie wieder zurück!
Geöffnet bis 14.30 steht im Netz. Als wir um halb zwei ankamen, empfing uns ein harsches Schild, "heute nur mit Vorbestellung ". Weil Tische frei waren, fragten wir nach und , die Antwort war "es gibt nur noch das Mittagsmenu und um Dreiviertel zwei machen wir zu. Ob wir wenigstens aufessen können? Achselzucken. Das war unser Versuch in dem wunderschönen Garten essen zu gehen.
Stunning, incredible, creative, delicious.. cud go on for ages to describe the food. Service was fabulous- a most delightful lady who was attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming.
