Restaurant zum Ausseren Stand

I had the pleasure to eat in this restaurant that was recently in the main role on a quiet week evening, and it really lived up to its reputation. I took the complete tasting menu. A meal full of surprises, with delicious dishes. At first I wasn't sure to have the wine pairing, but I'm glad I finally did. The Scallop dish was served in two variations, one after the other, one cold and raw, the other beautifully grilled, and I liked the contrast. The halibut was super light and the caviar served perfectly (and I am not a caviar lover otherwise). In the guard it was not even the foie grass and the truffles that made it special to me (or not only those) but the various iterations of the parsley. The calves were simply perfectly cooked and paired really well with the XO sauce not something exaggerated or salty that can easily happen with this kind of dish. The dessert was a perfect closing of the meal: the quince and the chocolate were both very light and tasteful (and not even sugary), blessed paired with a glass of champagne with combawa oil. The server was very attentive and happy to answer my many questions. And also a nice plus and proof of attention to detail: the cook itself served some of the dishes and had a little chat with each guest at the end of the meal. I had a wonderful evening, what an extraordinary place!

After we had lived in Switzerland for 20 years, we had come to the conclusion that it is difficult to find a bad restaurant, but equally difficult to find a really good one, but we have proved wrong. We stayed in Bern for a special wedding anniversary and the Restaurant Zum Ausseren stand is really excellent. From the moment we came to the moment we were gone, we were treated so well and the food was incredible in presentation and taste. Wonderful. The next time we are in Bern, we will definitely try to eat here. This cook always goes upstairs.

Instead of watching the Covid knitted Rolling Stones, we have here and what a wonderful meal we had. Such exceptional, tasteful dishes, made by so young (or so they seemed to us!! talented chefs. The environment was beautiful, the service was error-free, especially given the need for staff to speak in English, as our Swiss German is not available. We chose the inspiration menu along with the wine pairing that were a great combination. Overall so pleased to have found the berries and would return happy and recommend others.

Historical building with beautiful old meeting room (famous as the Swiss Constitution was signed there). Restaurant is renovated and very nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Service is good. Eating is good. They have a good choice of normal dishes without too much chichi...really as their concept. And all dishes are good, especially the tomato soup and the ice cream were excellent. Nice wine map. Very recommended place for lunch or dinner in a beautiful atmosphere!

Ich war mit Geschäfts Kunden zum Abendessen eingeladen, die Weinkompetenz des Kellners war nicht überwältigend, ich glaube es war sogar der Chef persönlich.Die Speisen waren ok aber auch nicht mehr, ich bin eigentlich tolerant wen eine Speise falsch serviert wird aber es kommt immer auf die Art und Weise an wie man es dann verkauft. Der Fisch von meinem Gegenüber roch nach nassen Stiefeln.Schade habe mehr erwartet !!!
