1/4 P`ras 9 - Réservation de table

We booked a reservation based on the great TA reviews. We were surprised at the basic and brightly lit dining room with tables crammed together. Our server did her best, but the kitchen rushed out the food. We ordered the Giant Prawn appy, which was dry and overcooked. We had only taken one bite of the appy, when the server reappeared and plopped down our main courses. What? She shrugged and said she told them we weren't ready but they pushed out the meal anyway. We tried to make the best of a weird situation, but the table was small and it was a rough go to work around the extra plates, keeping in mind that the main course was getting cold. The food was very good. The portions are large so it is easy to share with another person. The service was not very good and this is an important component of the experience. It was very impersonal. We were not asked about our food and the bill was presented while the wait staff stood there stoically. We’ve been traveling throughout the country for the last two months and have yet to feel as if we were being dismissed. We’ve always said that Portugal is a wonderful country because the people and the food are great. Not so much this time.

No frills, no decor restaurant just large portions of great food reasonably priced. We came too late to get seated for lunch so made a reservation for dinner and were very glad we did. Shared an octopus salad and a Tamboril,:seafood and rice stew, that was full of shrimp clams and monkfish and rice, served in a cauldron that kept it warm. The flavor and the aromas were intoxicating. Enjoyed it with a nice Alentejo vinho tinto, and had no room for desert

The food was very unpleasant. Maybe I am a picky eater compared to everyone else leaving feedback here, but the salad was unseasoned and the tomatoes and cucumber didn't feel fresh. The steak I had tasted odd, like it's been left out in the fridge for a while before cooking. Rice was flavourless and I personally wouldn't recommend this place. Paid way too much for a dish I wasn't able to enjoy and had to eat elsewhere afterwards... Réservez une table maintenant

Another good meal in Portugal. At the recommendation of the server we tried a local cheese, which was a good choice. I had the porco preto secreto, it was tasty and a huge portion. My wife had a whole grilled dorada and it was well prepared. Our server recommended a local wine we enjoyed. No room for dessert sorry to say as we wanted to try one of the regional specialties they had.

I don’t know what to compare to since this is my first traditional Portuguese meal in Evora. I have fish and bread soup. It’s good, the broth has flour in it so it’s not a clear broth, salty flavor lead with scent of herb on top. Good service, decent price.

Our hotel front desk set up this reservation for us a small out of the way restaurant. Everything was wonderful and we had one of the best deserts of our trip!

Excellent tomato soup with cod fish and eggs. Service by very warm and friendly people. Quiet setting. Good salad. Very good wine selection.
