1621 is the best part of the Sofitel Santa Clara property. The meal and service were both top notch, with a bill that doesn’t come close to equaling the tremendous experience (this meal would be 2-4X in most cities in the US Western Europe). From start to finish, 1621 was truly a one of a kind dining experience. The passion of the service shines bright throughout the meal…. They honor the history of the property in a very unique way, our waiter, Jesus, was excellent, and the others that pitched in during our 10-course dinner were also superb. We visited 1621 for a romantic evening in Cartagena. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were well greeted and offered a tour of the restaurant with some history lesson about it's origin. What a great way to immerse us into a great evening. We took the 6-course meal and it did not disappoint. The service by Dalexendro was impeccable and all of the dishes were refined and extremely tasty, made with love by Laaura. The wine pairing too was on par and recommended. Overall, we had an amazing evening at 1621 and recommend it to eventing who wants a romantic, refined diner in the beautiful Cartagena.

What an amazing experience! We tasted so many varieties of food that all complimented each other. The wine pairings were on par with the meal. I definitely recommend the wine pairing option. Give this restaurant a try, but make sure you have a reservation.
