Restaurante el Viejo John

An excellent choice of restaurant last night. This true jewel of a restaurant with tradition is a must in Medellin, Sabaneta area. The waiter staff was very helpful and the service is delightful. We took a beautiful peace from local beef that I forgot the name, but it was perfectly cooked and it was so tender that it melted in the mouth. A large piece of 450g meat with frits and salad and special “picante” sauce. Also the fried fish with shrimps was good. The choice of wine recommended by the waiter was not dissapoint. Very recommend this place as food is excellent and prices are then more reasonable. Buon appetit!

My family is out of this town and I'll tell you... If I don't feel like cooking, I'm here for classic Colombian cuisine. This is a very lively place especially on weekends or one of the holidays. So try to plan your time accordingly, bc can take it a little to get a table. The food is always fresh and is a true reflection of REAL Colombian food. Here you always get a high quality.

We both loved our meals from El Viejo John. We ordered fish it was super fresh, the sides tasty, the waiter patient with our questions... and the ambiance perfect. A great place to have a meal after checking out the amazing light show in Sabaneta park. All in all a great experience.

Wonderful service, great paisa food. Warning DON'T go on Sunday unless you want to wait over an hour in a line. Very reasonable prices. The Sangria was not good and they apologised ten times and took it out of the bill, didn't expect it.

Amazing food, great customer service, you need to try the belly pig in this place when you go to Sabaneta, this is the place where you need to eat.
