We went to celebrate my party last week at this restaurant. It was the first time I went to this Mexican restaurant that had been recommended to me for the atmosphere and for food. For the atmosphere it's super festive, we'd believe in the mexico but for the rest. We were 13 people and 6 people ordered a dish with guacamole or shrimp (very typical Mexican dishes) after 10 minutes the waitress returns with the menus mentioning that there were no more lawyers or guacamole and more shrimps either! Everyone was surprised and very disappointed. Moreover, there was no longer a sort of beer and made to dessert, there was no dessert that went with the host table so they replaced it with another dess...
We are accustomed to the Mexican/South American restaurants we love. the more authentic, the more we trip! So it's full of expectations that we went to the 'senor sombrero' for my husband's birthday. When we arrived, we immediately enjoyed the decor and the atmosphere, the reception was correct, no more. service a little slow, but real disappointment is at the level of food itself. the guacamole was really too salty, (not just a little), and lacked punch. We ordered the 'plato senor sombrero' and a mini taquitos entrance. Everything tasted the same thing! No nuance in flavors, it was cruelly lacking spices, vegetables, variety. It was also extremely fat. personally, I couldn't finish my serv...
It's been ten times since I've been in this restaurant for ten years and I have to say that I like the setting, the atmosphere, the sympathy of the boss, the kitchen, and the Mexican touch that's authentic. I saw musicians who had a very good atmosphere. but at my last visit, we felt pushed a little towards the exit. We arrived at 8:00. It's true, but it's a restaurant not a fast food. a little patience would have done no harm and increase the tip. Too bad, but I don't appreciate getting rid of my plate when I'm not finished eating. I'll be back, but not right now.
Beautiful welcoming and warm place. cocktails are delicious and what to say food. I've already eaten in other Mexican restaurants and it usually tasted too much corn. in the dark senor, the spices are in the spotlight and the dosage is perfect! I ordered a trio of tacos al pastor and it was delicious! everything seems to be done with the concern of serving quality food and respecting the Mexican inheritance of the owner. We're going to go back for the flavours, for the dispaying and taste of a good Mexican food!
We were there one night and we took the dark senor plato (a mix of everything that was ordinary) and the fajitas. These are served without guacamole and we dared to tell us that we never put guacamole in the fajitas to the mexic. we don't like to make the customers laugh like that. It's win-small. wine is not too expensive. I'm not going back.
On board, the deco leaves to be desired! However once seated and greeted by the excellent service have come to understand that it is typically Mexican. The food is incredibly good and typically Mexican! We almost forget that the quebec. nothing to have with the Mexican restaurants in the city. I'll become a dresser. Go!
We went on several occasions to this nice little restaurant. the decor is very representative and the atmosphere is pleasant when the songmaker is there. The food is excellent and at the price level is correct. to try but especially to book because the place is not very large.
