Rettershof Cafe-Restaurant Zum Fröhlichen Landmann

we wanted to try the Retters castle restaurant but they were booked out work congresses weddings for the coming 2 months. we then found this little gem nearby. Wonderful indoor outdoor restaurant nestled in the woods. it’s traditional German cuisine at a very good standard, far higher than you would expect from a Landgasthof. the service was impeccable and friendly WiFi orders to kitchen for fast execution. can highly recommend, we loved the Hirschgulasch (deer stew) with candied apple, Preiselbeeren Spätzle.

Was ok staff seemed stressed but had a lot of tables to serve and lots of steps to climb with heavy trays
