My friend and I made Rex Italian our first stop on our inaugural trip to Chicago. We took an Uber straight from the airport, luggage in tow, because we had to see what all the hype was about—and we’re so glad we did. The family running the restaurant is incredibly warm and welcoming. I had read that Momma hand out samples while you wait to order, and at first, I thought that couldn’t be true. This place is fantastic. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady who offered us several samples of her homemade dishes. Everything was so delicious that it was tough to decide what to order. We were not disappointed. The eggplant parmesan was outstanding, as were the meatballs and sausage with peppers. I highly recommend this spot. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, and the prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be returning.
I waited my turn at DDD, a restaurant that offers a hot food counter, a deli area, and shelves filled with an assortment of food items. There’s also a cooler with bottled drinks and a Pepsi fountain. They provided hot samples to taste a variety of menu items, including those from the hot case and the daily specials. There was a broad selection, and the food was delicious at reasonable prices. Next time, I'd like to take more time to go over the menu.
The renowned local favorite at DDD continues to impress. Still run by the same family, their subs remain outstanding. The homemade Italian pastas and specialties are genuinely exceptional. No matter where you are in the city, the journey there is absolutely worth it.

This is a wonderful old-school deli with a charming ambiance. I tried the meatball sandwich, and it was truly delicious, coming in at an impressive 9 inches! The prices are excellent, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. I will definitely be coming back!
I've been wanting to visit this local deli for a while, and I finally had the chance! I have to say, the authenticity of this place really stands out. The salads are fantastic, and the Italian sub was my favorite. I will definitely be coming back!
Always delicious Italian food, friendly staff, a warm place to enjoy the cultural atmosphere. Haven't had any of the food disappoint, but my favorite by far is the cold octopus salad. YUM! Then top it off with a heavenly espresso and cookie...
I visited for the first time, and the food was outstanding. The Italian beef sandwich was huge and incredibly tasty. I also had a potato appetizer, which featured a crunchy exterior but was soft and mushy on the inside.

The food is extremely delicious . The atmosphere is like walking into a old style Italian deli. The employees are friendly and courteous. I will definitely patronize this location more often!!!!!
I ordered the filled bowls, and they were incredibly tasty! It's a small business that serves homemade Italian cuisine. The service was also very friendly!
