Last week, my cousin called Rib-N-Reef and discovered they were open during a holiday period when many other restaurants were closed. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant was fully staffed and we were warmly greeted by valet, hostess, coat checker, and waiter. The waiter was polite and gave great recommendations since it was my first visit. The pre-appetizer items (pickle, coleslaw, bread and butter) were beautifully presented and delicious. The sides of mushrooms and mashed potatoes were excellent, and the steak was perfectly cooked with a nice sear. The garlic added a great flavor. This restaurant can be best described as glamorous. It has a classic ambiance with waitstaff in formal attire, valet service, and an overall feel like stepping into a movie scene. Located in the Decarie highway area, it remains popular despite its location. It is one of the pricier steakhouses in Montreal, but the food is cooked to perfection and incredibly delicious. It's a place to treat yourself. They offer a table d'hôte service which is worth it. I tried the filet mignonette with foie gras and it was absolutely incredible. The service is also very attentive, with regular customers being greeted by name.
