Table hadn’t been prepared for us even though we booked in advance. Waited 40 minutes for anyone to offer us drinks, drinks arrived and a gin came in a coke glass I asked for a gin glass to be told they have no gin glasses so they poured into a brandy glass.very classy Another drink never arrived at all. I had to call staff to take our order, food came but was slammed down on the tables young girls need to smile more very miserable and obviously cracking under the pressures of being unorganised. The food however was very tasty, but no offer of Parmesan or to check our meals was ok. They took our dessert orders which came but they still had cleared the table of the mains. I had to ask for cut...
We came across this restaurant on Tripadvisor, as we usually do with most of our dining choices. The interior of the restaurant was high-end, very elegant and impeccably clean. We stopped by without a reservation in the afternoon and were greeted by a friendly young man who was happy to help us with our food selection. He explained how the dishes were prepared and what ingredients were used. The starters were delicious, and the mains, especially the lasagna, were some of the best we have ever had. Last minute decision to take my wife out and give us both a treat. We don 't go out out very often and I booked Ricca 's on a whim. We weren 't disappointed as our eating experience was excellent from start to finish. A dish I hadn 't tried (or even heard of) anywhere before was the starter Arancini Siciliani and it was absolutely delicious! So full of flavour, as was the rest of our meal. Great, friendly staff, quick service, superb food and an excellent house red! We 'll definitely return and soon I hope.
While on vacation in the area, we were searching for an Italian restaurant for lunch and were thrilled to come across Ricca's. It truly is a wonderful find. Despite being very quiet, the atmosphere was still pleasant and the food was excellent. The Tuscan potatoes were especially delicious. The pasta was top-notch and the service was great. We turned up unbooked on a Saturday night the weekend about 500 cyclists descended on Newton Abbot for The Dartmoor Classic. Wanting some pre ride Italian RIcca's popped up on trip advisor so we turned up on spec. They squeezed us in it was full and admittedly the service was a bit slow but we were warned so not a problem. Great food and a friendly owner recommended.
I have been to riccas on several accasions. And have had a great meal..but unfortunately the meal of chicken in a picon sauce was quite greasy. The lasagne was tasty this is why I have I gave it 3 stars ...the staff were very friendly and professional it was just my meal which did not stand up to park this time...
The food at this restaurant is amazing and the staff are friendly. I would highly recommend it, as they serve traditional Italian dishes in large portions, making it great value for money. It's one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. I will definitely be returning soon.
