After waiting for a while, we noticed that he was finally preparing her meal, but he began pouring a large amount of gravy over the rice. Understandably, he might have forgotten the request, so my mom gently said, “Excuse me, sir, but that’s a little too much gravy for me.” What happened next was shocking. Instead of addressing the situation calmly, he started shouting profanities at the top of his lungs. We were taken aback, embarrassed, and upset by such an aggressive response to a simple request. He continued to curse, insisting that he hadn’t added any gravy at all.

I really wanted to give this place a 2.5, and rounding down felt too harsh. But here goes. I ordered the following items: medium curry chicken and white rice, side of mac and cheese, and carrot cake. The entire chicken meal was mushy and over cooked from the chicken to the rice. Small portions of chicken also. I asked for extra gravy and she didn't bother to stir the gravy and gave me straight grease. The Mac and cheese was mediocre at best just a bunch of noodles with a bit of cheese in the middle and top. The carrot cake slice had the entire top of frosting stuck to the top of the container. For the Bronx, there are plenty of better options with a similar price range. I won't be going back...
I ordered oxtails with rice and peas. Richie's restaurant has not been the same since the expansion, haha. They used to be excellent when they first opened years ago, but over time have declined in quality. The portions of food were generous, I will give them that. I specifically asked for a lot of food and they delivered. The oxtail was tasty and there was a good amount of it, I mostly enjoyed it. However, the food was very greasy and gave me bad heartburn the next day. It wasn't the best I've had from there, it was just okay. I have had much better in the past. You owe me some pepto-bismol on my next visit!
Order curry goat and white rice. The food here used to be very good. I was served mostly bone fat and gravy over white except with little to no meat. It coats alot this is considered medium and it cost almost 16 dollars. I think it's time I take my money elsewhere. The service was never good but the food used to be amazing that you ignored the poor service.

This Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx is my absolute favorite. The food is always fresh, servings are generous, and full of flavor! I ordered the medium oxtails with rice and peas, steamed veggies, and a side of Mac and Cheese for $24, which was definitely worth the price. I find myself craving their food frequently.
The only thing that was positive was that the salt content was low.It was not appetizing. It didn’t taste fresh at all. I hope my the small amount of curried chicken I tasted will not cause me to get sick.I ordered fried chicken and vegetable sides as well.I wouldn’t order again
The food quality has declined. It was amazing before, what happened? I ordered curry goat with peas and rice, but the peas were undercooked and the curry lacked flavor. Please improve, I used to be a fan of this restaurant.
I wouldn't recommend this place. The service was poor, and the oxtail was tougher than a rubber tire. I expected much more, especially considering the price I paid.
