We visited the fairly new Risdon Brook Hotel on a Saturday night without a booking, it was surprisingly busy, we were able to get a table so that was lucky.The hotel is new, it is modern but of a basic standard, the lighting is quite bright and our table was along a wall with others sitting very close, the lady next to me found it hard to squeeze out from the table.We placed our order, the food took a while, but it was busy. Neither of the meals came out as described on the menu. Both were missing the sauce !!! Visited here tonight most of the table had schitzneal beef or chicken the old saying you get what you pay for a huge piece of tough beef the two lady's at our table had trouble even cutting it with a steak knife and one of them commented about lockjaw Two others had parmis no complaints there I had the New York cut scotch or that's what I ordered any way bland tasteless why don't chefs season any more !!!!! The menu is not extensive and there are a lot of toppings for the schnitzels. This seems to be the trend, however there seems to be a lot of food waste looking at what was going back to the kitchen. What went back from our table was pretty bad. The fish fillets were small for the price paid.The children's menu was about what you expected, however the lasagna was very small in size, had little to no sauce and the flavor of the meat was not pleasing for a child, any cheese on it was baked on and hard to eat. My wife and I returned for a meal after our first was a total disaster. I had curried prawns with rice , chips and salad at no extra cost my wife had chicken breast wit mustard seed sauce, chips and salad we both had citrus tart and cream for sweets which was a Sunday special for a total cost each of $16 (a very affordable meal for us cooked to perfection served by staff who obviously loved their work all ways with a smile and courtesy. I was pleased we returned as my first visit to this venue was a total disaster and I will be eating there more often. WELL DONE RISDON BROOK HOTEL AND STAFF and thank you for a wonderful visit.

Not too far out from Glenorchy and a nice drive. The staff very very good and attentive. Very lovely inside. lovely comfy chairs, had a nice welcoming feel to it inside. The lunch special was good value. $16.00 for main and a dessert. We had roast lamb and pavalova. Nice but not the best roast i have had but plenty of well cooked vegies. I would go again.
The RBH is an average pub meal. There is the usual steak, parmi, seafood basket etc. The kids meals were 9 bucks a pop for a main, dessert and drink. If you're looking for food in an area of slim pickings then you'll get a meal but nothing to write home about. Staying at the nearby caravan park means it's an easy walk, if not we wouldn't have bothered.
We stayed at the park next door but the walk back from here is quite a steep uphill walk and not suited for anyone with difficulties going uphill, therefore, drive down. Menu is varied and price is good. Portions are of a good size and meals are served hot, fresh and without a long wait. Value for money.

Excellent meals they were great value for money I had the meat lover parma and only got through 1/2 and the service was impeccable very attentive and very professional.
I did not stay here came for a meal staff very pleasant the food was cold tough i felt embarrassed it was justhorrible
