First visit today based on the 4 Sunday roast meals for £20 posts on Facebook. Kids eat for £1 when adults eat a main meal for £7.95 and Ice cream for £1.99 and the photos of the food and Menu looked good so we thought it would be worth a try. Normally our experience of ‘kids eat for £1’ type of promotions are that the meals are usually quite small portions especially the kids plates. This was not the case here and they were piled high with an individual jug of gravy for each person. We all had gammon and there was loads of meat also and we all cleared our plates! There was mash, roasties, boilies, peas, carrots, green beans, cauliflower and a decent size Yorkshire pudding. We had ice cream...

My Mum took my daughter and I here for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was fantastic. I honestly can not fault the dinner at all, it was beautiful. There was everything you could and would want on a Sunday dinner, the staff were happy to give me extra gravy when I asked too.The roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings taste like proper home made roastys and puddings should! The small size is very generous and was more than enough for me and I can eat alot. The deal on a regular meal is fantastic too as it means your child (think it stipulated under 14) eats for £1!! My Mum got the regular but gave me some of it as sge was struggling, we was both so full and contentMy daughter got a kids meal and a...

Five of us ate here for Sunday Lunch, four small portions and one standard.I hadn't been in this establishments for years but my first impression was that the place looked tired, could do with a revamp or decorating. We dined in a large room and it was a very cold winter day and whilst we were not exactly frozen, we felt it could have been a little bit warmer. As to the food itself it was delicious and piping hot with each of us having a separate gravy pot. To be honest the smaller portions were nearly as large as a regular one.. On the standard portion there was turkey, mash potato, roasties and a couple of new potatoes, 4 veg and Yorkshire Pudding (not entirely sure if these were home made....

Good points. There was plenty on your plate although the difference between a regular and small wasn't that much. Service was good and didn't take too long and it was nice sitting in the conservatory with the sun coming through. Not so good points- Tired decor, noticed all the carpet was ripped and taped back up on entrance, could do with a facelift.Meat was a little dry (dry Turkey, Lamb and Salty Gammon). Yorkshire puddings were definitely not homemade despite being advertised as that. Overall i'll give this 6/10. We've had worse dinners and the food was better than Prince William over the road. This was our first visit to the Rising Sun and we weren't disappointed. 6 of us ate Sunday lunch .The portions were very generous. We chose The roast beef and turkey options which were served with peas green beans carrots and cauliflower. Mashed potatoe and roast potato...and stuffing and yorkshire pudding.....and generous servings of gravy. Extremely reasonably priced....we will certainly be back.Staff were very attentive and friendly and we eere served our meals very soon after ordering. Would highly recommend visiting

We live round the corner from the rising sun, and have just endured the nosiest firework display I can ever remember. Our 2 month old baby was woke by them, and having watched them out the window whilst trying to soothe her, it became very obvious that whoever selected the fireworks went for pure noise rather than a nice display. Not only were they ridiculously noisy but they seemed to string them out over a long period and no matter where we went in our house could not find a quiet corner to soothe our baby.

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch and it was quite busy, but we were still able to find a table. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for our food, but considering how busy it was, we didn't mind. The food was all prepared to our liking and was well worth the price. The staff promptly cleared our plates once we finished and checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory, which it was. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with good service and delicious food, and we will definitely be returning.

We had a great time at the Rising Sun. This place is perfect for those who enjoy a variety of snacks, and you can get four drinks for less than £15! We also enjoyed playing the games machine. Réservez une table maintenant

I visited this restaurant for the first time today and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, they were all out of lamb, but the service was excellent.
