Il vero Italiano! This place is fantastic. The family that runs it is Italian. Nino Sardella was a chef in Torino, Italy, and Marcello Mastroianni was a customer, thus the name of the restaurant. This is Nino's La Dolce Vita. Look for the photo of...a much younger Nino and Marcello. Nino and his wife and their son run the restaurant. The food is excellent Northern Italian fare that includes fish dishes. The finest is the catch of the day prepared in a saltzmantel, a coating of salt. The salt is removed and the fish deboned table side. It is one of the best fish dishes I have ever had anywhere. through the good reviews we were attentive and curious to the restaurant. since the restaurant was already known to us from previous times ( aok), we were curious how it was presented today. our expectations were only met to a limited extent. the food was tasty and well dressed. it is a good average Italian restaurant. because the restaurant is located on a very busy road, it is very restless and loud in the outside area. the waiter was a bit too intrusive, but perhaps it is also the Italian mentality. we were again, quite spontaneous, with friends to lunch. the chef is super friendly. that eat very well. the selection is sufficient. Tip: chefe gets crazy when you eat pasta with knife and fork! ;)the chairs are not very comfortable. :( free parking is available directly in front of the house.
we enjoyed our meal here. the portions were generous. eating was good and served with a lot of care. the owner was charming and it was obvious that he was proud of his food, but we would have done without telling us how to eat our food “not cut the noodles with a knife”, etc.
