Ristorante Del Arte

We have eaten here several times, and each time it has been a fresh experience.This time we were with friends who had never been before.The different seating areas are bright and airy despite the restaurant being partitioned by furniture and pillars, and you can barely notice the other diners unless they are on the next table.We were seated in the window, able to watch the sun setting over the woods, as the restaurant is situated on the very edge of the town.There is also seating outside on a terrace, but it was a little too early in the year this time around.Thirst things first - there is a list of drinks AND cocktails in the menu, and your waiter will take your order for these first.The Del Arte theme is ITALIAN, with nearly all the menu items being of some connection with Italy.There are pictures of many of the dishes in the menu, alongside the listed items, and in our experience, they have always arrived at the table actually looking like the pictures. The presentation is excellent.I chose a lasagne dish from the three types offered, while one of our friends chose the degustation choice, with two types of lasagne and a cheese ravioli... which arrived at the table as illustrated in the menu, in three dishes on a plate If you make that choice, make sure you are hungry, as the portions are the same size as the normal menu items! This was not apparent in the picture in the menu, where it simply looked like a scaled down version.All the dishes were appreciated by those who ordered them - the service is not too fast that you feel rushed, and not slow. Some of the waiting staff speak a little English, but not all are keen to practice it with customers unless the customers also make an attempt at French. There is free WiFi which will give you access to Google Translate!Finally, DO leave room for dessert. It would be a real shame not to try some of the selection on offer, which we all found delicious.Even if you feel a little full, then simply order one dessert and two spoons!

Went again with the same friends, sat in a different part of the restaurant but still very pleasant. Offered English menus and our waitress was charming and was extremely tolerant of me ordering for everyone in French! OK, three of us had the same thing as last time, purely because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The fourth had the same as me and his plate was so clean it looked like it had come out of the dishwasher! The portion sizes are good. Service was good and not rushed and a very relaxing atmosphere. Again the restaurant was busy - always a good sign and people were still coming in when we thought about leaving and then thought what the heck, let's have another drink as it was just so pleasant and comfortable. I still think the starters could be improved. This is probably the fourth time I have eaten here and not disappointed. About two years ago, ten of us tipped up without a reservation and they managed to accommodate us outside and again, clean plates sent back. Our friends are coming back late May and guess where we will be heading for lunch?

It's a chain, 'convieniant' on the ring road, but it's worth your while to make the effort and drive into the centre of town to find places with better service, atmosphere and decent food. This is basically a cantine serving pretty average food at best.

Italian food in France makes a nice change. Pizza's reasonably priced and other more elaborate dishes on the menu. Great out of hours choice for a last minute dinner with friends.

Very nice Pizza and Pasta restaurant. Service and food very good. Great for families, but also for couples.
