Came here with friends as we’ve just moved to the area. Sat outside which is a nice area, inside was just constant shouting of meals and numbers. We ordered which took forever as they make drinks at the same time. A young blonde girl was...doing her best and seemed very polite and then assuming the owner? Lady with brown hair came over to ‘assist’ who seemed very blunt and rude to staff and uninterested to customers. This ruined the experience for us and we felt very unwelcome. The coffee was overpriced for a warm cappuccino. The food arrived and was okay, nothing special and no better than a whetherspoons breakfast. Toast was smothered in butter- a bit much for me. Our friend had a tea cake...
The Riverside Cafe is located in Hillsborough, next to a park and a football ground, and opposite a school. During our visit, Isaac and Tom enjoyed a Chicken Caesar salad and fresh orange juice with beetroot and coleslaw. The staff welcomed us warmly and were very friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the portions were large. The atmosphere was great with good music playing on the radio (loveshack). There is a terrace/decking out the back overlooking the river and football stadium. The accessible toilets were great, with enough room to turn a wheelchair around inside. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.
I returned to the restaurant a week later to try their delicious vegetarian breakfast. Since it was a match day, the restaurant was busy but I was okay with waiting. I requested no tomato to be added to my breakfast, but the lady at the counter refused. I tried to explain that I just didn't want anything added, but she continued to say no. When I asked again, she rudely mentioned that the chef said no. I decided to take my business elsewhere due to the rude response.
Away fan visiting Hillsborough for match on Sat Feb Found this place by accident. Clean, staff very friendly and efficient despite being very busy. Had the home made pie of the day (meat and potato) with homemade chips, peas, and gravy absolutely...excellent and great value. Nice friendly atmosphere and enjoyed a chat with some home fans. Service excellent at such a busy time just over before kickoff. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely upstairs bar area to hold a party.Helpful bar staff and good buffet.Unfortunately we were over charged,we mentioned this at the end of the evening when it came to paying but the lady I paid wasn`t the person who took the booking.I phoned the gentleman...I booked with and left a message explaining I had been overcharged but that`s a month ago and I have`nt heard anything back?
Their sign says ‘We don’t do fast food. We do good food as fast as we can.’ In reality, they do very average food very slowly. Very stingy with the sausages in my bap. And what kind of a cafe doesn’t have mustard!?
We stopped by for a drink because we loved the terrace. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a great bottle of Picpoul at a reasonable price. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing time.
...how lovely to find this super spot for breakfast. Super clean. Helpful to my gluten free needs and very friendly. The food was delicious too. I’m sorry I don’t live closer.

Having a mile walk in our glorious countryside we popped in this great cafe, excellent service, friendly, welcoming and excellent food and a great drink of coffee or tea.
first breakfast here since the reopening of the caffe. nice as always (vegetarian breakfast.) good to have the caffe again open.
