My daughter and I were in the area and love bbq so it was a no brainer that we'd stop by. The vibe is rustic and we liked it. They offer daily specials and had a diverse menu with lots to choose from. We went with sharing a platter and getting a kids meal for the toddler my daughter was caring for. On our platter we chose bbq chicken, brisket, corn, bbq beans and green beans. It also came with a corn muffin. The kids meal was pulled pork and mac n cheese. The food was good, but not quite to my taste preferences. I prefer more seasoning on dishes. The bbq beans had a tomato kinda taste where I would prefer more of a bbq taste... I did enjoy the brisket and WOW the corn muffin! My daughter tho...
Lunch at 11 am and was welcomed by friendly staff. Our Madison server was excellent. The BBQ Meats were juicy and had just enough smoke, but not exaggerated. We pulled pork. The sausage was very good. The cooked cinnamon apples were perfect, not excessively sweet, and still had a good bite, not too muddy. The pigtails (short fries, cheese sauce pulled pork) were excellent. The potato salad was fresh and the maismuffins were moist and tasteful.
Here in Quincy for a quick work trip.. from Chicago so we lowered our expectations for the food around here. It was a delightful surprise to taste this food however. The ribs were juicy and seasoned, mashed potatoes were good, barbecue sauce was actually really good the wedges were good as well. Nice and crispy. Now we've obviously had better but there's no need to compare. This restaurant has flavor
I needed to reserve a private room for a large group of coworkers and the staff at Riverside were very helpful and friendly, to coordinate the room and the large group of employees. Food service was excellent and food was served quickly and hot. The waitress was very helpful and served all our needs. The restaurant has a very interesting atmosphere with homestead era motif.
Food service. Our waitress was super friendly with great conversation and our drinks never went empty. Emily's Trio and a burger with Brisket Mac n cheese DELICIOUS! Great music in the background. Rustic, spacious and super clean. Excellent staff and customer service all around! We're definitely going back!
This place is a dump. The waitress alternated disappearing extended periods of time to avoiding our table. I got the brisket plate it was cold greasy and gave me diarrhea. I got a dessert that was 11 dollars and consisted of a piece of apple pie and ice cream. Lunch for two was $55 a rip off.
Damn good BBQ! We were in Quincy for a TKD tournament and after the event went to Riverside. The food was so good. There were a variety is sauces and the sides were all very good! The staff were cool and a good time was had by all! If we're in town again. We'll be back!
