After hearing about it many times, we finally decided to try this restaurant for breakfast on a weekday morning and we were very pleased that we did! We enjoyed a simple, yet delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. The decor is a bit dated, but clean, including the bathrooms. The service was excellent. We ordered standard breakfast specials - eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly to our liking, the bacon was crispy, and the home fries were made with real potatoes. The coffee was hot and our cups were always filled. We can't wait to go back and try their burger next time!
We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the years. The Riverview offers good solid food at decent prices. I must admit that we have found the service to be a tad slow at times, but never so bad that we have left (which we have done at some other places), and the staff is always friendly. The dining room is large, so you can always find a table. The Riverview has been around for as long as I can remember. As a result the decor is a little tired. If you're after fancy and fine dining- take a pass, but if you're looking for good comfort food with a relaxed feel, then this is your place.
We mostly go here for breakfast. The food is good your typical farm breakfast but not too greasy. The service is fast and the price is right. They also have lots of room so you can usually find a seat. We had supper here a few times also. The food is okay (no complaints) but it's pretty average. We're usually looking for a different experience when we go our for dinner but if you're travelling with a family it's more than adequate. I do have to warn you about one thing. The place is in need of repair. If this doesn't bother you, you will enough your meal.
From the old highway beside the river where my dad brought me fishing 60 years ago is an old established restaurant that looks pretty run down from outside however; the food makes up for any negative comments you may make about the decor. Clean and friendly for sure. Good prices too. The best hamburger ever! A huge 12 ox banquet burger cooked perfectly and made the old fashioned way. My buddy had a club house which he says was great as well....My compliments to the chef Réservez une table maintenant
I have been ordering this at the Riverview for over 25 years and have never been disappointed, The restraint can get busy so you might have to wait but most visits the service is quick. Friendly staff and a personal touch. My wife and I go out of our way and this restraint has become a family tradition with each of my boys taking there family's here on a regular basis!
I visit this restaurant once a year. My friends and I have an annual skating event and we always finish the night with dinner at the Riverview Restaurant. The food is delicious, generous in portion size, and reasonably priced. The potato bacon soup is excellent, the burger is huge, and the mini pies are fantastic! I even purchase extra to bring home.
