Great little spot and not too far away from the beach. Food was good, crowd was diverse and nice. Bartender was very welcoming to the spot. DJ was playing good music and see so much potential to this place as the Rockaways keeps coming back. Also, the art work was entertaining while sipping a drink...the best though are the surfboards throughout and the original furniture. Cool vibe too!! (So true about really good sweet potato fries).
I had a great time at this place on a Friday afternoon! Definitely a hidden gem. Tacoway Beach tacos are right next door/attached! The chorizo tacos were great! They have two drafts: Hanalei Island IPA $7-awesome) and Mahou $6-Madrid crisp beer, like Stella). Friendly surfer dude bartenders. Did the right thing when some chick asked for a lid to her margarita for her Vespa ride. Ha!! Great place.
The vibe here is just incredible. Magical. Felt like I was in a movie about a California beach town in the 90s. Family friendly, everybody friendly. Feels like locals run the place and it’s just… rad. Great cocktails at a cash-only bar, delicious tacos you can order from your phone. Went for live music and a friend’s art show and now I’m considering moving to the Rockaways. Just kidding… or am I?
Get the fish tacos because they are epic. The crew also know how to throw a decent shindig. Who knew that we can find surf culture, good grub and watch a surf movie in the New York City. Good times.
Really good fish tacos. Feels like you’re in California, and then you get transported back to NY with the subway overhead. Super chill place and a great stop on a beach day.
Tacos are always on point great ambiance, amazing juice dranks, funky furniture and ultimate surf club hangout spot and the eye candy is soft on the eyes :
