rössli has always been our restaurant for special occasions because of the fantastic kitchen, excellent service and extensive wine list. Unfortunately, the chef and his wife will soon go to rest, so we had to make the best of the end of a ära. by celebrating both our birthdays (born on the same day 2 years apart) and our wedding anniversary, although they are less than 2 weeks apart. at both locations we had, as always, exceptional meals and perfect service. on our high-time day I met the jackpot by ordering 3 courses of the seasonal spring menu. my first cure was a carrot and ginger cream soup with a shrimp dim sum, perfect balance. for my main I had wrapped salmon in thin, crispy potato sl...
I was introduced to the restaurant by my host who is a local resident. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown into the restaurant. The decor is traditionally homely and Swiss providing warmth and charm to the diners. The menu offered a selection...of choices with recommendations from the very helpful waiters and staff. The meal can only be described as excellent. It is evident that the food that is prepared in the kitchen is lovingly prepared and presented. All of the dishes that were eaten were cooked with passion. After the meal the chef personally checked with the diners that they were satisfied. We dropped in when passing and were surprised at the size of the restaurant and number of people having a thursday lunch. We chose the Hirschrücken for 2 and had a memorable meal which was eveyrthing one could expect for this typical 'Wild ' dish in...Switzerland. the meal is seved in two services which means that the food comes beautifully presented and of course warm. Very good value for money for such a perfectly executed meal. No dessert space left but these looked very good as we watched them pass to people with larger appetites than ours. there with a group of friends, anticipate great food and service. unfortunately my nuesslisalat dressing was mostly tasteless. then it took about an hour to wait between appetizer and main dish! when it finally appeared, my hunger had almost wavy. the 62Chf-Surf...and Turf-Schüssel from a small piece of lobster and a piece of meat tasting as well. what a disappointment. the server rarely showed up on our table and behaved automaton like. they really don't get the hype. Maybe it was a bad night for her, but it was my first and will remain my only visit.
We went to the Rössli with our friends, and they now know why we love this restaurant! The food was excellent, we choose a menu gourmet. What a delicious foie gras!! To die for... Unfortunately, i could not have the wild boar i was so...looking forward to eating, as it was not glutenfree... But the cook did present an other type of meat in the same way. The service is also extremely attentive, as caters to all our wishes. All in all a great experience for the gourmets and the gourmands !
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at this place. Food is really excellent. Service very good. It just took a bit long, almost 3 hours for dining. I had the 5 course set dinner, my wife picked 3 courses out of the set menu....So that she didn't have to wait while I had an additional course, she was offered a Sherbet free of charge. Very nice gesture! The restaurant is practically always full, especially on weekends. A reservation is a must well in advance.
The restaurant Rössli is definitively the best gourmet restaurant in the region. They serve regional food and the chefs perform on a very high level. The service is also professional. I have eaten here as a couple and with a group of people as well...and the product is on a high level each time.
