Last Saturday night we decided to change up our routine, we religiously eat at Trattoria Timone but decided to try Rogues Restaurant. To start they did not have our table ready for our reservation and we ended up walking back and forth through the entire dining room, after standing in the front lobby a bit longer they finally had a table cleaned. After the hostess took our drink order we waited about 20 minutes for our waiter to show up without our drinks as the message was not passed along. We reordered our drinks then waited about half an hour for him to acknowledge our existence again as he is busy chatting up his co workers. After asking for oil and vinegar 3 times we finally received it...
My friend and I were celebrating 50 years of friendship and we went to see the Carol King musical Beautiful downtown and then went to Rogues Restaurant for an absolutely amazing dining experience.. From the warm welcome from Tony the owner to our server Paul, everything was spot on. My friend had an appetizer size of the pasta special with shrimp followed by Veal Parmigana. I had a tomato and bocconcini salad followed by 8 oz New York strip cooked to perfection accompanied by mushroom risotto and vegetables. Tony the owner asked what kind of wine I liked and he served me a beautiful full-bodied Cabernet which paired perfectly with my meal!, This is fine dining at its best. I highly recommend...
Rogues is tucked away in a small plaza on the side of Dundas St. in Mississauga and is easy to miss. It shouldn't be! It has some of the best Italian cuisine in the GTA and provides a memorable dining experience at prices significantly lower than like establishments in downtown Toronto. We've made many visits to Rogues and I have never been disappointed. If you like liver, (and I know many don't) Rogues serves a calves liver dish that is second to none. have been there a couple of times. food is really good, atmosphere is average, prices are pretty expensive but attitude and service of server was unprofessional. he kept on opening water and wine bottles without asking if we needed more. he poured wine to everyone sitting on table and didn't ask if they wanted to drink or not. so he just assumed. and when the bill came I entered what I thought was good enough as a tip. the server in a loud voice my guests could hear, says sorry but the minimum TIP is 15% ($125) as he needs to pay the bar tender and staff!!! so I had to cancel my payment & re pay adding the 15%!! what an embarrassment. so unprofessional. no Etiquette for such a fancy place. I have enjoyed many lunches and dinners at Rogues over the past 30 years. I took a friend for a birthday lunch and was extremely disappointed in the food and service. We were one of only 3 tables lunching there. It used to be bustling and busy. We had 2 chicken Caesar salads ,a glass of wine each and a tea each. The bill was $81 before tip. This would be acceptable if the food and wine were good but they were not. The salad was inferior and the wine was sickly sweet and could not have been the Pinot Grigio we ordered. The waiter was,as my friend commented,"brisk" with us. He never mentioned the daily specials which is always done by the waiters at Rogues. I will not return.
We have been going there for 10 years! Its our fancy restaurant get-a-way! The servers all know us there and the service we get is excellent. The food is always superb. I recommend the specials from the board, or going during their Game or Fish Festival. We took our girls once and although they catered to their needs its just not the same for them. I don't recommend that. We had a Christmas party there in the private room...Amazing! In the 10 years we've been going never once have we had bad food or service! I do agree with one of the prior comments, it does need a makeover!
Rogues is a little gem hidden in Mississauga. Those who admire classic Italian fine dining, then you will enjoy this restaurant. For many years it has been our family favourite and they continue to demonstrate superb customer service, class and food. This year, my husband and I went again for Valentine's Day and the food was divine. We recommend Rogues for a nice romantic night, or a quite escape in Mississauga from the hustle and bustle.
Hosted my wife's birthday party with 10 other guests at Rogues. We had a wonderful time. Tony, Jack and staff treated us very well and took care of us through the night. Service was excellent and everyone raved about their dinner. It was a great evening. Réservez une table maintenant
