Romilly's is our go-to spot for afternoon tea and it never disappoints. The drive from Birmingham is well worth it for the warm welcome and attentive staff, especially Caron, who goes above and beyond to ensure everything is just right. The selection of fresh sandwiches and cakes, paired with ample servings of tea, is delightful. Despite the rainy weather, we were able to sit comfortably and dry under the gazebo. We will definitely be returning soon.
Romilly's is a great cafe in a lovely spot in Barry right by the Knap. I have been at all times of day and have always had excellent food and drinks and the staff are consistently helpful and friendly. I love that it is an independent cafe and goes the extra mile beautiful crockery, enormous slices of cake being just 2 examples. If I have friends or family visiting from elsewhere in the country I always take them on their visit.
Lovely cafe at Cold Knap, Barry. Ordered a pot of tea for 2. Cosy £3.20. Sat outside as very warm day. Served the old fashioned way. China tea pot , 2 cups and saucers to match, all bone china. Also had extra hot water to top up. Had 3 good strong cups of tea each. The staff are so helpful and friendly. 2 nd time here and will definitely visit again soon and have a meal next time as food looked delicious
Been many times before and the coffee is always great but, this time, we had a very generous slice of lemon cake. It was awesome. We were told by the excellent Karen and Tracey that the new chef had baked the cake so let's hope he makes it regularly! Réservez une table maintenant
The afternoon tea at this restaurant was excellent. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive, especially with the baby. I highly recommend this place. The location is perfect for a stroll around the lake and a visit to the beach.
Had a lovely Christmas lunch at romillys too with 24 valeways walkers ,the last one before Christmas. Quick friendly service,lovely food and overall great atmosphere. Thank you very much for making it really special, Thanks Rosie amelia

"Popped in at 2.15 pm on a quiet Friday- asked very unfriendly landlady if we could play darts- she refused saying it is only for darts team to use and that tables were booked. Only table used was no where near the dart board."
