I must say that this local spot in Norristown may have the best sushi in KOP. I have visited Ronin several times and every time I am impressed by the family-friendly atmosphere where the staff jokes with customers and treats you like friends or family. They will remember you when you return, and you will definitely want to return because of the welcoming service. The food is also incredible. The drinks are served in cans, so don't expect free refills, but they provide thick napkins which make cleaning up messes easy. I was not particularly impressed with the Ramen or Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, as they did not meet my expectations. However, the Godzilla, Volcano, California, and West Norrito...
Ok, so picture is half eaten but just to illustrate my main issue, the wrong cut of meat was used for chashu, making it quite chewy. The broth was pretty good and I've had worse noodles, but all-in-all an unimpressive ramen. My girlfriend says the sushi was good at least.Service was a bit oppressive, multiple times we were talking to each other and were interrupted by the waitress just asking if things were okay or asking if we needed more water when we had barely taken a sip. She was at our table every 5 minutes, and when it came time to leave, instead of giving us a container, she left with our food and came back having put it in containers, which is just more odd than a complaint, but ala...
Today, we had a delightful lunch at Ronin. We were the first customers to arrive for lunch, and we found the dining room to be tastefully decorated with framed pictures. The service was quick and attentive, with soup and salad served before our lunch specials. We started off with a delicious featured sushi roll called OMD, which had spicy tuna and mango slices. It was a great appetizer before our meal. My friends enjoyed the sushi lunch, while I opted for the sashimi. All the dishes were flavorful and beautifully plated. It was my first time dining at Ronin, but I look forward to returning in the future.
We had been wanting to visit this restaurant since it opened, but I was pregnant and love sushi, so we had to wait. My children are sushi fans and were excited to learn how to use chopsticks. We arrived an hour before closing, but the amazing service continued. It was great that they provided training chopsticks for us, along with some tips. The food was amazing, even my picky children enjoyed the calamari and sushi. We will definitely be back to try more items from the extensive menu. Thank you for making this experience unforgettable! It's a quiet place never crowded however the food speaks volumes to the quality, freshness, attention to detail put into every dish. Everything here is made to order, so it take a little time for them to put everything together, but well worth the wait. You can't put a price on the quality of fresh food. I suggest everyone try this hidden gem.
Tried Ronin for the first time and will definitely be coming back! We tested 4 different types of sushi and each one was better than the last. Highly recommend trying the Dancing Eel Golden Dream Roll. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and all the ingredients were on display. We can't wait to come back for our next visit.
