Roots Real Food Real Beer

This is meant to be as objective as possible. The place is quite nice and the bar is big. Beer selection could be better but whatever they had was good enough. Service was pleasant and the environment was nice. On the other hand food was a quite disappointing. I had the pork belly bites, and as they were ok, I found them overcooked with a failure of a sauce pairing. For pork belly, I would have prefer some sauce on the sweeter side, not plain bbq. As for the Mahi Mahi sandwich, more is not always better or at least use an appropriate bun size for it. The breading was more like a cake consistency, and to add it was complete bland and burnt. I am from out-of-town and went to luch at Roots Real Food Real Beer with friends and family. I had the BBQ pork sandwich and couldn't belive my eyes when I saw this sandwich. It was loaded with meat and bacon and cheese with a homemade onion ring. It also came with a mega load of fries. I am somewhat leary of ordering BBQ out because everyones taste is different, but this BBQ was out of this world good! The staff was so attentive to us and very friendly. There were six of us in our party. Even though there were other patrons we were treated as though we were their #1 customer. In fact she treated all of the customers the same way. So after multiple attempts to order food from here I just gave up. I call the restaurant and they said oh we canceled because we no longer have that on the menu. I was like I'm on your website and they said oh we haven't updated it in a couple of years. What the heck! I was like ok never mind. So this review isn't on the quality of the food just the poor management and upkeep. How do you plan to stay in business if you don't update what you serve. Do better! Definitely won't recommend.

My party had a really pleasant time when we visited Roots. It is a fairly new addition to the area and has a modern and festive taphouse feeling. Our server was very nice and attentive at our party. They had a good selection of local beers on tap and a generous menu. In addition to good selection of burgers and seafood, there are more traditional bar prices. Roots was great, I'll be back soon! This place used to be pretty nice when it first opened a few years back. BUT now their food quality went down and the prices are up. I guess it's pretty difficult to keep the quality steady ...

Wasn't crazy impressed by the food...the bay wing bites were good, but the burger was subpar. Highlight of our visit was Tori, who took excellent care of us. Thank you Tori!

Great service, good beer, but the whole place needs to be cleaned. Stick to the basics when ordering.
