What a lovely find. Pulled off the M6 for a bite to eat that was not a motorway service station. Jist over a mile from the motorway and we found the Rope and Anchor at lunchtime. The bar lady was exceptional, friendly and helpful. The cask ale was very nice. We ordered a shared meat plate, with added hand cut chips and garlic bread. There is absolutely nothing bad we could say about the food. It came quickly, was hot, extremely tasty, great value and set us up for an afternoon on Liverpool. Always good to find a hidden gem.
Attended my grandson's christening celebrations here on the 2nd October and I have to say that Bugra and his team namely Beth and Hannah went out of their way to make this special occasion perfect. They were very helpful. The food was lovely and plenty of it for all the guests. I will and have recommended this venue to friends and family. A big thanks to Bugra and the staff. We will be back
My steak was like plastic and when i ate it it gave me flashbacks to ww2, would not take my grandchildren here. While i visited the gentlemens room i experienced a unusual interaction with a old man who didn’t speak english and approached me swiftly with force as he pinned me to the sink, furthermore on my departure i was pulled over by a lovely lady who presented me a wet tomato.
We stopped by for a quick pub lunch and were blown away by the delicious food. My husband raved about the pie of the day, saying it was the best he had ever had. I enjoyed the steak onion ciabatta, which was also fantastic. Our daughter loved the gammon as well. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy this food again.

The restaurant offers a great variety of tasty dishes at affordable prices. However, some customer favorites have been removed from the menu, resulting in a rating of 4 out of 5 instead of a perfect score. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
We came here for a Valentine's Day meal and were disappointed with the subpar quality of the food. The prices were too high for what we received - the chips were undercooked and the peas were cold.
I had walked in just for a good old pint with the lads and I experienced a woman naked dancing on my table with chips in her hair very disappointed after I woke up with her
