PROS Scenic brilliant structure Nice pleasant structure and building Simple and sufficient for the needs of the travelers, visitors and hikers Outstanding views at the top Panoramic breathtaking vistas when eating at the patio tables (see my photos) Interesting way to shuttle supplies from the steam train by cable car Clean and safe bathrooms CONS Many passersby- not for intimate dining I VISITED THIS PLACE ... ... when I reached the top of Brienzer Rothorn mountain. I used the facilities there (see my photos from that experience). The service and food all seemed reasonable. TIPS I 'm sure that it 's quite an experience to eat here on the mountain peak, so just do it.
Had dinner in the restaurant with a fast and friendly service. The selection of food and wine is very big if you compare with other places above 2000 metres altitude. Payed around CHF 50 for dinner with is an average price in Switzerland. The single room for CHF 100/night was simple but clean and cosy and the view was amazing. They organized me a breakfast in my room so I could leave at any time in the morning for hiking. Can really recommend this place and don't understand the complaints of the prices in the other reviews cause this prices are normal for Switzerland.
The view from the restaurant (inside as well as outside) is amazing. Depending on where you sit, you can see the Brienzersee, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (and many more) or Sörenberg, Pilatus and Schrattenfluh (and many more). If you sit inside, make sure to get a table at the window. As far as the menu is concerned, you have a good selection of different meals (traditional, burgers, soups, salads) freshly made. Given that everything needs to be delivered by steam or cable railway, it is impressing how fresh and tasty everything is.
We came for lunch to this typical Swiss restaurant on the top of the mountain called Brienzer Rothorn. You can't miss it, if you either take the cog railway uphill or a long hiking tour. Either way the outlook is fantastic. Not to forget services which was very friendly and also quick. All food tasted great and with a height above sea level of around 2'300m it offers an outstanding view over the Alps whilst you can eat inside or outside. Réservez une table maintenant
That a reservation gets lost, ok. How a restaurant handles the situation, that's the question. Rothorn Kulm handled it really bad: long waiting, confusing information, no sorry no nothing. Placing guests from one place to another. I guess as a day guest it's ok. If you plan an event, I would be careful, call again and let confirm the reservation.
The restaurant at the top of Brienzer Rothorn offers beautiful view and friendly service. The menu offers many traditional Swiss dishes, but it is also possible to vary them or wish for something, that is not on the card. The personnel is very friendly. Coffee is good. Aperol Spritz could use some ice cubes, but the food was delicious.
A visit to this place is definitely worth the money the views are simply breathtaking, relaxing for the soul, it seems you can reach the clouds, birds fly beautifully nearby. Very tasty food, especially liked the grilled sausages and dessert. By the way, the prices are not as high as I expected. Friendly staff
The only downer was the weather forecast from SRF, which predicted brilliant weather, but that didn't happen. Otherwise we had a nice trip. Very courteous and friendly employees everywhere at the train station and in the restaurant. The food was simple but very well prepared. We'd love to come back! Réservez une table maintenant
