Rothorn Pizzeria - Réservation de table

We had reservations for 4 people. A waiter seats us at a table then a waitress takes over and takes care of our table. We place the order. So far so good. Then another waiter comes to see us and attacks us. That we can 't sit at a table like that, that the table is reserved, that we have to leave. He doesn 't believe us when we tell him that we have reservations and that we have been placed here. He caused such a scandal in the restaurant that everyone was looking at us and he never apologized for his attitude or his mistake. Zermatt is the ultimate proof that just because you're on the slopes doesn't mean you always have to eat poorly. Among the many top-notch options in the ski area, it would be a mistake to forget the Rothorn restaurant. Here, pizza reigns supreme and they are truly five-star worthy. The service is friendly and the view is magnificent. A great alternative if Vrony and the like are fully booked or simply if you crave for a delicious pizza.

I know that Switzerland is expensive, extremely expensive. Even so, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on something worth half the price. BUT I did have the Äpfelkuchen (apple tart) as the kind waitress suggested. It was good. I realize one is also paying for everything to be brought up to the top of the mountain, but for me, the level of decadence (that I was a part of) was rather disconcerting.

The food was good although the prices were as high as the Swiss Alps. It was also a bit sad to see empty reserved tables and people looking for a table being turned down. Waiting staff were amazing and understanding but it seemed like table management could do a bit better, sorry Guido. Réservez une table maintenant

We are absolutely thrilled with this cabin. The view is fantastic and the food impressed us. The absolute highlight, however, is the head waiter Rene vom Ammersee. His joy for life is contagious and his hospitality is second to none!
