I want to start by saying that I’ve been a loyal patron of this restaurant for years. I've followed it from just a 5-minute drive from my home to a 15-minute drive to work, and now it’s a 25-30 minute trip from my current residence. Despite the increasing distance, the restaurant's consistent excellence in food, customer service, and overall experience just keeps getting better. You’ve likely heard of Roundhouse's tri-tip tacos, which is why you're reading this review. These tacos are exceptional, landing them a spot on Yelp's American Top 100 list. They're generously filled with meat, cheese, salad, and tomatoes. The Texas smoker adds a delicious flavor that draws you into the deli. The establishment has a deli-style setup where you order from the overhead menu, pay, and pick up your food once it’s ready. It’s a cozy place with limited seating, but the food is outstanding. I visited this afternoon and ordered the hot pastrami with fries. The prices were reasonable, and the food was decent with adequate portions. However, the pastrami was overcooked—although I wouldn’t describe it as burned, it was definitely too done. There were five staff members working, so there really are no excuses for the dirty tables. The entire place is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and some fresh paint. Additionally, the pictures on the walls could use new frames and a bit of straightening. It’s a shame, especially since it's so close to the neighborhood.
This is a charming restaurant that has been a staple in the area for many years. Inside, you'll find interesting historical photos on the walls showcasing the former SP railyard across the street from decades past, as well as images of some railroad employees. The food here is excellent; I tried a sandwich called the "Trainwreck," which is similar to a Philly cheesesteak but also includes pastrami. Highly recommended! Réservez une table maintenant
The tri-tip tacos were juicy and had a fantastic smoky taste, but they could have used a bit more seasoning. However, the sauce served on the side really enhanced the overall flavor. The cheese and lettuce were fresh, and the shells were perfectly crispy. I would suggest adding more flavor to the meat; it's delicious and juicy, but a bit more seasoning would really take it to the next level.
